Emily Simpson of The Real Housewives of Orange County has welcomed newcomer Noella Bergener with open arms, but she recently threw shade at Noella for being messy. Fans watched as Noella’s divorce from her husband James Bergener played out on television for all the world to see. Despite having only met Noella, Emily had the utmost sympathy for the blindsided housewife. Emily told Noella that she was there for her and that Noella could call her at any time of day. Noella seemed grateful for the support as she needed someone to rely on during this difficult time.
Early on in the season, fans watched as Noella’s life started to unravel when James suddenly left her without any notice. Soon afterward, he hit her with divorce papers and she claimed he had cut off her credit cards, leaving her to fend for herself and their four-year-old son. The housewives rallied around Noella, lending her emotional support. Shannon Beador and Gina Kirschenheiter especially felt Noella’s pain as they had also gone through a very painful divorce from their ex-husbands.
Noella recently revealed that she was refusing to leave the mansion she was using to film RHOC and that she was "squatting" there because James hadn't paid the lease. Emily laughed at that statement, telling Us Weekly: "Who calls their house a mansion? Let's go there... like, what is this? Does she have a moat? Is there a dragon? Like, I don't understand. Like, why does she have to say mansion?" Noella then remarked on further details, "As far as what I read from documents, the lease was up. (...) Maybe he was only financially obligated to pay the length of their lease and then that was it. So, I don’t know. If she’s illegally squatting there, then she should find somewhere else to live. Maybe not a mansion."
Fans love hearing Emily’s perspective on things as an attorney. Emily shared that she pays close attention to the statements that James and his attorneys make about his very public divorce. She stated, “I read all of it. I listen to it. I decipher it. I go back through what she told me on what dates; I make timelines. So, I will tell you, I can blow holes through a lot of things.” Fans are wondering if that statement was aimed at Noella or James. Emily recently questioned Noella’s credibility after Noella claimed fellow RHOC star Heather Dubrow “slammed people into walls” at her sushi dinner party. Emily accused Noella of contradicting herself when she said that she first “heard” Heather’s supposed throwdown and then said she “saw” it.
Emily shaded Noella again when Andy Cohen asked her on Watch What Happens Live, “Who do you think is thirstier, Noella or Dr. Jen?” Emily immediately responded, “Oh, I’d say Noella. She does Instagrams from her bathtub. That’s thirsty.” Fans thought that was hilarious given that Noella accused fellow Real Housewives of Orange County castmate Jennifer Armstrong of being thirsty. Perhaps Emily is fed up with Noella for her hostile and irrational behavior. It’ll be interesting to see how Emily and Noella’s relationship plays out the rest of the season.
