Bravo and The Real Housewives of Orange County fans are now realizing how severely removed from reality the housewives appear to be. Specifically, the COVID-19 episodes have shocked viewers. On the show, all of the housewives fail to recognize how dangerous the worldwide pandemic actually is.

The series that started it all is falling short in this latest season. Between calls for Kelly Dodd to be removed from the show, thanks to her bullying behavior, and OG Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson not returning, this season is a bit lackluster. The entire show is being carried by Braunwyn Windam-Burke’s challenge to remain sober while she continues to rage against her marriage and husband.

The Real Housewives of Orange County had to stop filming for a brief period because of the coronavirus outbreak. But as the film crew got back in gear and the home iPhone footage was revealed, it did not look like most of the women took the threat seriously. Kelly and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas were the worst offenders.

Kelly on Real Housewives of Orange County talking to Gina

The episodes showed Kelly leaving her child behind to fly to New York City for a “booty call,” as Braunwyn Windham-Burke put it, announcing that “There is nothing that is going to separate me from my man. She was seen out and about in Times Square without a mask and also made a home movie of herself on the place, again, without a mask, saying the virus was nothing to fear. Fans are still upset with her for saying the virus was “God’s way of thinning the herd.” Kelly has tried to feed the lie that this outbreak was no worse than the flu. Elizabeth also spouted this agenda as she stated in the last episode that it could be a government-made virus, telling cameras “I’m not sure if this is a man-made virus so Big Pharma can make a lot of money, or if this is an actual virus that just happened to come from a monkey. But having to stay home is making me nuts.”

These women are doing themselves, viewers, and the network a disservice. There is no question that some people look up to these women as something they can aspire to be. But who wants to back women who have drank the Kool-Aid? The truth is, as viewers saw on the last episode, Elizabeth was hosting large gatherings during the lockdown and kept saying the pandemic would blow over in 60 days. These women proved that they just don’t care about what happens to themselves or those around them. These are not women we should be glorifying or looking up to. Instead, it's the opposite, and Bravo should cut them loose before any more damage to the brand is done.
