Kyle Richards may be the OG of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but the star is in hot water with Bravo fans after being branded a hypocrite. Kyle has been a constant source of drama since she first joined the series with sister Kim Richards in 2010. While she has managed to retain her diamond for over a decade, Kyle's presence on RHOBH season 12 has been met with a chilly reception so far.

In October 2021, Dorit Kemsley was robbed at gunpoint just before season 12 began filming. Since The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered on May 11, the series has been detailing the aftermath of that scary experience. Although housewives Kyle, Lisa Rinna, and Erika Jayne have offered Dorit the most support, fan favorite Sutton Stracke hasn't been as emotionally vulnerable about the situation. While Kyle has tried to call Sutton out for her lack of reaction, Crystal Kung Minkoff and Garcelle Beauvais are two stars who disagree with Kyle's current methods.

Kyle's reaction to Dorit's robbery is commendable due to their friendship. However, Bravo fans think that Kyle lecturing Sutton is hypocritical, considering Kyle's previous lack of concern about others' problems. One of the strongest RHOBH friendships (before its untimely demise) was between Kyle and Lisa Vanderpump, LVP left the series after season 9. When Lisa's brother tragically took his own life in 2018, most of the show's cast tried to offer LVP emotional support. However, her then-BFF Kyle surprisingly remarked that. "we've all got stuff going on." This had not been forgotten by fans on Reddit, and scores of people have highlighted Kyle's hypocrisy towards Sutton with other examples from the past. u/ArvoreDaVida is one Redditor who pointed out Kyle's prior transgressions, calling out the star for brushing over Sutton's father's death by suicide, and her own previous burglary experience.

In addition, there are plenty of viewers who think that Kyle's hypocritical behavior stems from the star trying to control the show's narrative. As the only original housewife remaining, many Redditors speculate that Kyle is trying to establish herself as a fan favorite, despite several of her co-stars being more popular. "Sutton didn’t take the bait and Kyle got mad. The way she polices peoples honesty and feelings shows just how hollow she truly is," u/rikkyc3 wrote, referring to Kyle as a "phony." Several people agreed, with many expressing their appreciation for Sutton, Garcelle, and Crystal's authentic conversations. "It is killing Erika, Rinna, and Kyle that Garcelle and Sutton were the fan and press favorites last season," u/dj206008 theorized, leadings fans to call out Kyle for trying to force a specific storyline on RHOBH.

While Kyle has been a staple of the series since the beginning, it looks like her time with the Beverly Hills series may finally be coming to an end. Kyle's sinking popularity with fans is an issue, as well as her complicated relationships, like the one she shares with sister, Kathy Hilton, Kyle recently confessed that she has considered severing ties with Bravo. Depending on how the rest of RHOBH season 12 plays out, viewers may not get to comment on Kyle's hypocritical behavior for much longer.
