Garcelle Beauvais is a model and actress, mainly known for her role in Coming to America. Garcelle hails from the gorgeous nation of Haiti. After her parents divorced, her mom moved to America to start a new life for her children. A few months later, Garcelle and her siblings moved to America to be with their mother. Funny enough, the Haitian born beauty moved to Massachusetts where it was the first time she saw snow.

With Creole and French as the main languages in Haiti, Garcelle learned English by watching the children’s program Sesame Street!

From Miami To New York

As Garcelle grew up, she wanted to dive into the modeling world. She moved from Massachusetts to Miami to be represented by a local agency and her love for the fashion industry took off from there.

After getting her feet wet in the modeling world, Garcelle moved to New York City where she was represented by Eileen Ford. While working for Ford, she worked with high-end designers and became more well-known for her exotic looks.

She's Been In The Industry A Long Time

Once Garcelle has her full of the modeling world, she decided to give acting a try. And just like modeling, she took to acting like a fish to water.

Her first role was in Miami Vice (1984-1985) and since then, she’s been in over 75 TV shows, shorts, and movies. Some of her more notable works are Our Lady Underground in The Magicians, Fancy in The Jamie Foxx Show, and Nicole Moses in Family Matters. And more recently, she’s been in Tell Me A Story as Veronica Garland.

Before coming on as a man cast me never this season, Garcelle was already a fan of the show. Since she's been friends with castmates Denise Richards and Lisa Rinna for years, she was familiar with what was going on. She told Women's Health Magazine that her managing team voted against the show but she wanted to do something new and "outside of the box."

She Has Famous Exes

Mike Nilon Garcelle Beauvais Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Just like many other housewives in the franchise, Garcelle has dated some pretty famous faces and names. Recently, she just broke up with Michael Elliot, and in the show, she admitted to dating Will Smith! Funny enough, she’s also friends with Will’s first wife, Sheree Zampino.

Garcelle has also been married twice. She touched base on her second marriage to agent Mike Nylon on the show (which ended in divorce after he had a five-year affair), but she was also married for almost 10 years to Daniel Saunders.

She Has A Podcast!

Due to Garcelle’s flawless voice and fame, a podcast makes perfect sense as the next move for the actress. The podcast is called Going to Bed with Garcelle and is produced by Radio Point. The theme of the podcast will be based on lifestyles, relationships, and intimacy. She'll have celebrity fans join her on the podcast as they talk about personal stories and opinions on relationships.

Going to Bed with Garcelle has already been greenlit for one season, which aired on May 7th. It will have 26 episodes, each episode lasting a half-hour long.

She's An Author Of A Children's Book

Just in case fans thought Garcelle was just another pretty face, buckle up; she’s also a children’s book author! In 2013, Garcelle released a children's book titled I Am Mixed, based on real-life experiences her sons had growing up in a mixed-race household.

A year later in 2014, she wrote I Am Living In Two Homes (based on kids living with divorced parents) and I Am Awesome in 2015 (celebrating children's unique features that make them them).

She Was Filming Three Things At Once While Shooting RHOBH

Fans of RHOBH may remember the argument between Kyle and Dorit over “having a life.” Dorit claims she “has a life” and that’s why she was late to Teddi’s event. That didn’t sit well with Kyle because she too has a life that involved filming her movie, the reality show, and being a wife and mother.

Garcelle hasn’t chimed into this argument yet but she totally should because she’s just as busy. Not only was she filming the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but she was also filming the TV series Tell Me a Story in Tennessee and Coming 2 America in Georgia!

She Was On The Cover Of Playboy!

Some of the most gorgeous and famous women in the world have posed for the cover of Playboy. Back when Hugh Hefner was alive and in charge of the magazine, only the most coveted of stars made the cover.

What many new fans don’t realize is that Garcelle graced the cover of Playboy in August of 2007. At 40 years old, the actress took her chance with the magazine. As she said, "Who knows how my body will look, maybe we should document this now."

Her Best Friend Is A Fellow Celebrity

It seems like every real housewife has friends in high places, and Garcelle is no different. One of her best friends is actually actor Jamie Foxx! She met Foxx when she was on his show in the '90s and have been close friends ever since. In fact, their close bond has many fans wondering if the two ever dated.

She told HuffPost Live that dating Foxx would be too "awkward" for their friendship. If the two of them ever broke up, it would be hard to work together and enjoy each other's friendship, so they made a pact not to date.
