Famous celebrity housewife Lisa Rinna landed in hot water after her daughter, Amelia Hamlin, candidly stated she was "forced" to film The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The 19-year-old has since corrected herself, saying she used the "wrong choice of words." Amelia gave the impromptu comments after an Instagram page accused her of lying about her anorexia in order to get more screen time and hold audience attention.

Amelia has been open about her struggles with anorexia both on her social media and on TV for several seasons on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. After her family noticed her declining health, Amelia took to social media to call attention both to the issue and to her recovery. She then discussed the disease with her mom on RHOBH. Amelia acknowledged that her journey to overcome anorexia would be a lifelong struggle. Though her health has been through some ups and downs while on the show, the entire family has always been open about her condition.

The drama took off when Amelia posted a troll's comment and her response to her Instagram story (via Cosmopolitan). The initial post that set Amelia off stated, "Yeah so @ameliagray lied about being anorexic on national television. We really thought it would get her more air time. I'm upset. Denise ruined it." This is what led Hamlin to her impulsive, fuming response. On her story, Amelia reacted to the accusation, stating "I usually don’t post these. But this really got to me. Lying about a mental illness is disgusting. Something I hope nobody would ever do. I seriously can’t believe I’m being accused of lying about anorexia to get more 'air time' sorry but I’m forced to be on the housewives by my mom. Ask anyone it’s the last thing I want to do. I couldn’t care less about air time. So f*ck you."

After news stories started to surface about her comments, the reality tv star began to backpedal. She talked about her feelings six years ago when she began filming at just 12 years old. She begged, "CAN EVERYONE PLEASE CALM DOWN AND STOP!!! My mom is so so amazing. She 'encouraged' me to be on the show in my opinion." She further stated, "I was 12 and didn't know what it was going to be like. And I'm so glad she encouraged me to do so. I've been able to touch so many souls with my story. I should have said ENCOURAGED NOT FORCED!!!! THAT WAS THE WRONG CHOICE OF WORDS. All I was trying to say is that I'm not just on this show for a f*cking storyline you guys chill." Amelia then went on to say that she has developed a bond with the women on the hit series. Continuing to allude to her eating disorder, she wrote, "Obviously it's been 6 years I could have stopped filming long ago can you all just chill. I haven't cause I have a story to tell to HELP people and now I've become super close to all the women and I love them."

Even with Hamlin's back-peddling, her knee jerk reaction created a perfect storm of news stories about the mother-daughter duo, causing fans to question what is going on and what happened six years ago. Beverly Hills socialite, Lisa Rinna, made no comments about her daughter's posts, seemingly leaving it all up to Hamlin to fix. Only time will tell if Rinna will have anything to say. Whether Amelia was encouraged or forced to film The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it is evident she's upset about the controversy her comments have sparked. She is clearly a loving daughter who just wants her mother to be seen in a positive light.
