Kyle Richards from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is defending The Voice coach Gwen Stefani for identifying as Japanese. In a recent interview, Gwen denied accusations of cultural appropriation. Instead, the singer claimed her experiences with and appreciation for the culture meant she was Japanese. Her comments swiftly earned backlash. However, not everyone agreed with the criticisms, including fellow reality TV star Kyle.

On January 11, Kyle responded to a post about the controversy on the E! News Instagram page. The post included a Gwen quote from the interview, reading, "I said, 'My God, I'm Japanese and I didn't know it.'" Making her feelings known, Kyle wrote, "Everyone can't wait to be offended by something."

The Halloween Ends star's comment quickly racked up over 3,000 likes. While a number of replies agreed with Kyle, many others encouraged the former ER actress to delete her response. Multiple Instagram users called her a hypocrite, mentioning the time she cried over a hat store. Another argued, "you get offended anytime your sisters’ breathe." Others referenced, quoted, and tagged fellow RHOBH housewife Crystal Kung Minkoff. One responded to Kyle, "it’s funny how you keep proving Crystal’s point without being aware of it."

Kyle May Prove Crystal's Accusations On RHOBH Were Right

Crystal Kung Minkoff at RHOBH season 12 reunion

During the explosive RHOBH season 12 reunion, fans applauded Crystal for scolding Kyle's privileged ways. Throughout the season, Kyle constantly dismissed Crystal as an "entitled millennial," which made her come across as a typical boomer and a "Karen." Viewers were also outraged when she and her husband Mauricio Umansky excused Erika Jayne's treatment of Garcelle Beauvais' son. In a previous season, Kyle accused Garcelle of not giving money to a charity. Her fellow RHOBH co-star tried to turn it into a teaching moment about racial bias, but it appears that didn't stick. Fans haven't bought Kyle's previous apologies, and this latest social media activity indicates she hasn't changed.

In addition to Kyle's alleged racial insensitivity, fans have a lot of issues with the way Kyle treats sisters Kim Richards and Kathy Hilton. Many questioned why she remained friends with Lisa Rinna after the infamous Amsterdam fight with Kim. These questions were renewed when the Veronica Mars star targeted Kathy after the Aspen meltdown. When she was still in the cast, Kim memorably slammed Kyle's lack of support, and claimed that Kathy would defend her "like a real sister." This prediction came true when Paris Hilton's mother used the reunion to slam Lisa, bringing up her treatment of Kim. A few months later, Lisa announced she was leaving the show.

Lisa's exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills opens up numerous possibilities for the Richards sisters' future. Fans hope both Kim and Kathy will return now that they don't have to film with Lisa. However, Kyle may not fare so well with viewers. It's possible Kyle will become the new head villain, or co-villain alongside Erika. It's been quite a downfall for the OG Beverly Hills housewife. Kyle isn't helping her reputation with messy social media behavior, although she still appears to have some fan support left.
