After knowing each other for more than two decades, Lisa Rinna and Garcelle Beauvais from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills became involved in an ugly, ongoing feud. When Garcelle joined the show last season, she never thought Lisa would be the one to turn on her. Even though Garcelle was introduced to the cast through Denise Richards, who departed from the series last year, she had a longstanding friendship with Lisa long before she came on the show.
Lisa Rinna joined the series in 2014 for season five and quickly became the pot-stirrer of the series. She would often throw out outlandish accusations, such as alleging Yolanda Hadid suffered from Munchausen syndrome or asking Dorit Kemsley if people were "doing coke in [her] bathroom." In this case, Garcelle hadn't even been on the show for a season before Lisa began to attack her, sparking their ongoing feud.
Standing By Denise
Last season, when the whole cast was against Denise, Garcelle stood by her friend. However, Lisa did not, even though she and Denise had been close friends for more than 20 years. Garcelle was shocked by Lisa's behavior and began to question whether or not she could trust her friend.
Garcelle Comments About Lisa's Daughter
During the cast trip to Rome, Garcelle brought up Lisa's infamous Instagram videos where she sometimes dances in little to no clothing. The Real host wondered if Lisa showing off her body like that contributed to her youngest daughter, Amelia's, eating disorder. However, both Lisa and Amelia denied this claim. The former Days of Our Lives actress was not happy with Garcelle when she brought the question up, adding to the explosive reunion that was soon to follow.
The Reunion
During the season 10 reunion, Lisa not only attacked Garcelle for speaking about her child, but went all in on Denise. Lisa kept digging her heels into Denise, hoping she would admit to having an affair with Brandi Glanville. Garcelle was surprised by how quickly Lisa turned on Denise. She put her guard up against Lisa and didn't see how their friendship could repair after the drastic turn.
Making Amends
In the season 11 premiere, Garcelle and Lisa went to dinner together to talk over their differences from last year. Lisa apologized for what she did and realized she made a mistake by not backing Denise. "I was harder on Denise than I needed to be. I much rather [have] been like you and gone, ‘I don’t care, I’m standing by my friend,'" Lisa admitted, adding, "Like, that’s f–ked up. Absolutely 100 percent." Garcelle is now finding it difficult to trust Lisa after the way she treated Denise and wonders if Lisa will turn her back on her in the future. Even though it make take Garcelle some time to trust her, Lisa hopes they can move forward. "I would tread lightly, but I’m open," Garcelle replied.
Garcelle and Lisa still have a long way to go before their friendship is completely healed. After last season, Garcelle is finding it difficult to trust Lisa and doesn't know if she will ever get there. While their feud is still ongoing, there is still a chance for Garcelle to forgive her friend of more than 20 years.
