Viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are all aware of the legal issues surrounding current housewife Erika Jayne, and it seems like fans had no issues quickly turning against her. While she may have a group of followers who are standing by her side, the majority seem to have turned their backs on her and are quick to assume she is guilty. The question is, why was this so easy for fans of the show to do?

Erika Jayne is slowly starting to reveal her story and legal issues on RHOBH, and fans are not convinced that she is as innocent as she claims to be. As many know, the housewife and her now ex-husband Tom Girardi are in the middle of a messy lawsuit. The two have been accused of embezzling money, and their divorce seems to be getting more complicated by the minute. What is interesting is that while Erika seemed to have many fans who loved her down-to-earth, blunt personality since her time on the show, it appears as though not many people are sticking by her side as details about her legal issues unfold.

A big reason it is so easy for followers of the show to turn on Erika is that they believe she is too “sharp and calculated to have not known that shady sh*t was happening,” according to a Reddit thread. This is likely Erika’s fault for being so vocal on the show about not putting up with fakeness and being able to see through people for who they really are. If all of this is true, it is a little difficult for fans to believe she was really blind and clueless about what was going on behind the scenes in her marriage.

Another reason fans so easily turned against Erika is that she was never truly honest and open on the show. The housewife, who has received the nickname ‘Ice Queen’ in the past, always has a wall up, attempting to guard herself and her emotions. Erika has even discussed the fact that she never really had a group of girlfriends that she hung out with throughout her life, so she felt out of place when hanging out with the group and being vulnerable. While this may be due to past difficulties and issues in her life growing up, this, unfortunately, doesn’t help her case. It is hard to relate to someone who is afraid to fully open up with viewers.

While Erika may very well be innocent, she really should not be surprised that fans are having a hard time sticking up for her. It is hard for people to trust someone when they feel like they never really had a chance to get to know that person. Perhaps it would be in Erika’s best interest to start really opening up on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11, although it may just be too little too late at this point.
