Erika and her estranged husband Tom Girardi are the subjects of a major lawsuit for allegedly embezzling money from Tom's clients before he was disbarred as a lawyer. Tom's legal firm, Girardi-Keese, was recently forced into bankruptcy with a $101 million debt. Erika was also named in a lawsuit for allegedly spending $25 million of Girardi-Keese's money on luxurious expenses like glam squads and American Express charges over the last decade. The "XXPEN$IVE" singer isn't letting the ongoing cases stop her from living her best life, but RHOBH fans are adamant the TV star owns up to her wrongdoings.
The fallout of Erika's divorce from Tom and their subsequent legal drama is playing out in the current season of RHOBH, and many viewers believe Erika is playing the victim. The "Pretty Mess" singer isn't holding back on fans who are calling her out amid the lawsuit. Most recently, Erika called her critics "dumb b******" for following "conspiracy theories" about her involvement in Tom's alleged schemes. “Stop thinking I’ll quit just because you think I should," Erika tweeted. "F*** that.” Despite facing allegations that she spent money from disaster victims Tom ripped off, Erika is keeping up her larger-than-life persona online.
Erika was met with harsh criticism when she posted a revealing photo to her Instagram on Wednesday, September 8. The star posted a semi-nude pic of herself from a previous photoshoot, simply writing “✨✨” as the caption. Followers quickly responded to the post with negative comments regarding Erika's scandal. “Tone deaf," one user described the post. “Take those photos before jail honey,” another commented. A fellow Housewives franchise star seemingly shaded Erika under the post. "You need some clothes boo?" Dr. Tiffany Moon of The Real Housewives of Dallas wrote, adding a kissy emoji.
One user detailed their frustrations with Erika's post in a lengthy comment. "You're on a HUGE platform now to help find a way to start paying these people back, and yet you choose to behave like this instead!" the user wrote. They added Erika should be using her head at this time and not her body. "For the sake of those poor people, do the right thing," the user concluded.
Erika isn't giving up her image in the face of her various scandals. The reality TV star has lost favor among the RHOBH audience after the secrets to her husband's wealth were revealed.
