It's been three weeks since The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi filed for divorce from her husband Tom Girardi, and she's already looking like her fierce self again. After staying away from the spotlight since the split was officially announced on November 3, the 49-year-old singer got dolled up and enjoyed her first night out as a single woman.
She's better known as Erika Jayne and she was married to the 81-year-old for 21 years. The pair met at a Los Angeles restaurant, where she was the attorney's cocktail waitress. From start to finish, Erika and Tom Girardi's relationship was unconventional. They had a drastic 33-year age gap and spent a lot of time apart. While Tom reportedly attempted to win back his wife's love with lavish gifts, it's clear that money can't buy happiness.
Erika may have been lying low due to all of the press (and commentary from RHOBH fans), but the newly-single lady was finally spotted on November 19. She was seen having dinner with close friends at Fia, an Italian Restaurant in Santa Monica, California. According to People, this was the first time that Erika was seen all month, after submitting divorce paperwork which cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. According to the divorce documents, the official date of separation has yet "to be determined." The RHOBH personality looked like her old self, complete with perfectly-styled blonde hair and knee-high black boots. In her divorce announcement, Erika stated, "After much consideration, I have decided to end my marriage to Tom Girardi. This is not a step taken lightly or easily. The exes are still hashing out the details of their divorce. Erika Jayne did not sign a prenup, explaining, "A prenup wouldn't stand in his way anyway. So it doesn't matter whether you had one or you didn't, it's going to be all Tom's way, I assure you. He'll rip that piece of paper to shreds in two seconds!" She's requesting a monthly allowance from Tom and asking him to pay her legal fees.
The split isn't all that surprising for RHOBH fans. Sure, Erika Jayne repeatedly defended Tom, clapping back at the haters who said she was a "gold digger" and only with Tom for his money. However, towards the end of the marriage, the subject of Tom Girardi rarely came up in conversation on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It seems as though the long-distance marriage allowed both parties to feel comfortable on their own... so much so that Erika no longer needed or wanted her significant other. When Erika feels some type of way, she lets the whole world know it.
