In a case of ‘she said, she said,’ former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Brandi Glanville, claims she had an affair with Denise Richards, and shared texts in an attempt to prove her story. According to Brandi, she and Denise engaged in secret sexual encounters and asserted that the former Mrs. Charlie Sheen (Denise) and her husband, actor Aaron Phypers, have an open marriage.
A 2019 addition to Bravo TV’s RHOBH franchise, the Richards wed Aaron Phypers, her second husband, in a 2018 outdoor ceremony in Malibu, California. Phypers was formerly married to actress Nicolette Sheridan of Desperate Housewives fame. For her part, Richards staunchly denies Glanville’s explosive allegations. Richards also takes issue with Glanville’s contention that her marriage to Aaron is not built on monogamy.
Glanville’s story came to light during a memorable episode of RHOBH, after months of titillation on the show, in which Glanville inferred something untoward occurred between her and Richards. Glanville’s recent tweets and postings of texts, give some weight to the notion that extramarital relations were taking place. According to Fox News and Brandi's text screenshots, Denise strongly encouraged Brandi to stay in a bedroom with her. The text screenshot showed that Denise allegedly offered to get a bed brought into the room for Brandi, but Brandi says no bed was ever brought in.
According to Glanville, she and Richards engaged in a months-long affair years ago. Their affair was restarted when she visited Richards, who was working in Northern California. Richards invited Glanville to podcast her show from Richards’ set. Glanville, who divorced her husband, actor Eddie Cibrian, for cheating on her with country singer LeAnn Rimes (who is now his wife), professed to want her own room. Richards insisted her own room would be large enough to stay in and said she would the aforementioned bed sent up for Glanville. As the Sheen daughters slept in a downstairs bedroom, Glanville discovered there was no rollaway bed in Richards’ room. Brandi ended up sleeping in the same bed with Denise. On the second night of her stay, Glanville confessed that they had too much to drink and consequently hooked up. Glanville said the guilt she felt about the affair was intense because she was (famously) cheated on by her ex-husband.
Glanville’s confession came on the heels of Kyle telling her that Richards is at odds with the women for bringing up the subject of ménage à trois within earshot of Richards’ children, during an outdoor dinner at the Richards-Phypers' house. It was shortly before Glanville’s confessional moment when Kyle’s sister (former RHOB member, Kim Richards) aired suspicions that Richards did something untoward to Glanville... adding cryptically that "all is not what it seems".
Though Richards vehemently denies any kind of inappropriate extra-marital affair with Glanville took place, she confesses her reputation may invite some side-eye, because of the provocative things she says about her husband’s manhood and other examples of oversharing. The affair story is plausible, but a lot of Housewives fans aren't buying into it.
