Now that NeNe Leakes is no longer the star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the former OG housewife appears to be throwing shade at season 13's viewership. The show's former star recently posted a series of cryptic messages that seemingly made fun of an alleged drop in ratings.

Fans were shocked when NeNe announced her departure from RHOA back in September. She had been a central figure on the show since season one and was considered a fan favorite. Throughout her time on the franchise, fans watched her glow-up, saw her sons grow up, and watched NeNe and her husband get divorced and remarried in an elaborate ceremony. In addition, her superstar status heightened right in front of the cameras. However, after 14 years on the show, failed contract negotiations led to NeNe's exit. She took to her YouTube channel at the time to make the big reveal. Following her removal (along with Eva Marcille), the only returning housewives were Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, and Porsha Williams. Newcomer Drew Sidora was added to the mix, along with a new friend of the housewives, LaToya Ali.

Only a few episodes into RHOA season 13, there are already reports surfacing that the ratings have dropped compared to other seasons. A new report by ShowBuzzDaily claims the season's second episode received 1.189 million viewers, which is a reported 250,000 fewer viewers than the series premiere one week before. The season premiere reportedly garnered just 1.41 million viewers, which is 500,000 fewer viewers than the season 12 premiere received in November 2019. Not one to take the high road when it comes to shade-throwing, NeNe may have caught wind of the reported ratings drop and then taken to Twitter to share her reaction. “Is that the number,” the former Bravo star tweeted on December 15. She added a GIF of one of her signature snide smirks. She sent another tweet that included a GIF of her sipping her drink. See one of her tweets below:

After announcing her exit, NeNe shared how hard the decision was for her and didn't make light of anyone casting judgment. She ended her friendship with Wendy Williams after the talk show host shared her opinion on the matter while speaking with Andy Cohen. The Swagg Boutique owner also shaded Andy in the crossfire. During a later appearance on The Tamron Hall Show in early October, she had tears in her eyes while sharing claims of “discrimination” and “bullying” from Bravo. “I deserve fair treatment. I haven’t done anything that no one else has done there, or haven’t done even worse,” she stated. “I don’t deserve this treatment. I’m as confused as you are.”

Fans of the show have shared comments showing their interest in the show's new cast members. However, a lot of viewers keep asking when NeNe will return to RHOA.
