NeNe Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta got her husband Gregg Leakes' blessing to move on with her life after he passed. NeNe and Gregg were together for more than 25 years before he passed away in September after a battle with colon cancer for the past few years. While he was initially in remission more than two years ago, NeNe revealed his cancer had returned in June, and his outcome wasn't looking good.
Days before Gregg passed, NeNe confirmed her husband was "transitioning to the other side" and was spending her last days with him by his side. After Gregg passed away in early September, NeNe had a difficult time moving on. She shared several Instagram Stories explaining how she was trying to get back to everyday life but found it difficult to do anything knowing she wouldn't see Gregg at the end of the day. However, NeNe was able to move on and quickly found herself a new man.
On Saturday, NeNe spoke to The Shade Room, via Page Six, about the rumors of her dating someone new following the passing of Gregg in September. The reality star confirmed that she is dating again, and she was given Gregg's blessing before he died. "I will love Gregg forever & ever! Grieving is hard! Even harder & depressing alone," NeNe, who might return to RHOA, told the celebrity news outlet this weekend. "Gregg and I had a very tearful conversation before his passing. His words to me were ‘be happy, keep smiling and he who finds you, has found a good one." NeNe wasn't shy about showing her new guy off either, as he attended her surprise 54 birthday party last week at her club, The Linnethia Lounge in Atlanta, which was put together by her youngest son, Brentt.
What gave their relationship away was the couple photo she took alongside her former RHOA castmates Porsha Williams and her fiancé Simon Guobadia, and Shamea Morton and her husband, Gerald Mwangi. Photos were taken of the new pair at NeNe's party just three months after Gregg’s passing. NeNe posted a series of photos from her fun night, with several of the snaps including her and her new beau. While it's unclear how long they have been dating, a report from TMZ alleges the two met through Peter Thomas, who appeared on RHOA for several years as Cynthia Bailey's husband, who she divorced in 2017. The mystery man was later confirmed to be Nyonisela Sioh, a couture suit company owner based in North Carolina.
As long as The Real Housewives of Atlanta star is happy, that is all that matters. Before Gregg passed, he gave NeNe his blessing to move on and find someone who will make her happy for the rest of her life. Even though Gregg was the love of her life, NeNe wants to spend her days with someone and maybe Nyonisela is one to help her through that.
