With the premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 14 quickly approaching, Marlo Hampton revealed how she feels about being a peach holder as well as her original feelings about newcomer Sanya Richards-Ross. Hampton first joined the reality series as a friend of the housewives in season 4 and remained a "friend" for some of the other seasons following this. Whenever Hampton appeared on the show, there was sure to be drama that followed as she is known for being one of the shadiest people to appear on the show. Despite her familiarity with cast members and fans of the show, Hampton was unable to upgrade her title to "housewife."

Though Hampton provided the show with extra flair and flavor, the reality of her becoming a peach holder was uncertain, despite fans thinking she deserved it. On one end, Hampton's constant feuds and certain behavior left producers on the fence about whether she deserved a peach. While in an argument with Sheree Whitfield, an OG housewife, she used a derogatory slur to refer to Whitfield's gay friends, and this left a nasty taste in the mouth of many, including Andy Cohen, who once said Hampton would never get a peach. Even further, NeNe Leakes, with whom Hampton was very close, felt as though Hampton would not get a peach because she was already giving the network all that they needed. Despite years of uncertainty, she was finally given a peach and will officially be a housewife in RHOA season 14.

In an exclusive interview with E! News, Hampton detailed what it was like to be a housewife, going into detail about what the experience was like, and how she felt about newcomer Sanya Richards-Ross. Hampton felt that Richards-Ross did not try to get to know the whole group, and that caused some tension between the two. "At first, Sanya came around and she was buddy-buddy with Drew [Sidora]. I'm like, 'Get to know the whole group of girls, don't just go and meet one girl and that's your buddy-buddy," said Hampton. Though the two were not getting along at first, the new peach holder felt like Richards-Ross gave the group a chance once there was a strain in her friendship with Sidora. She now feels that Richards-Ross is a sweetheart with good energy and she is good for the group.

Reality star Hampton also spoke about how much it meant to her to have her title changed. The star recalled depressing moments when she would see fans speaking on her behalf regarding being a housewife, and eventually, she wanted them to stop. Therefore, when she found out she was going to be a housewife, she felt that it was a proud moment for her as well as for her fans. She said, "It just felt so good when I found out I had a peach. I'm like, 'Yes! My supporters and fans are going to be so happy.' It was just an amazing feeling and I just feel everything happens at its right time, and right now it's my time." She also spoke about how delighted she was to have Whitfield return to the show as a housewife and mentioned that fans can look forward to a "She By Sheree" fashion show this season.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is returning to Bravo in May. Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore will also be returning as housewives, in addition to those that were previously mentioned. Some fans are unsure whether the season will be as good as previous ones, but the housewives are promising that the season will be a good one.
