Kandi Burruss' mom, Mama Joyce, is being called out by The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans who think she's really the one who's going after her daughter's money. Mama Joyce has made it no secret how much she despises her daughter's husband,Todd Tucker. Since Kandi and Todd first started dating, Mama Joyce has made things extremely difficult for the couple. Despite getting married and welcoming two children together, Mama Joyce still has her guard up with Todd. Kandi's mom remains convinced that Todd is after Kandi for her wealth and fame.
Fans have gotten an inside look into Kandi's continued fight to get her mother to accept the man she loves. But no matter how much time passes, Mama Joyce continues to take small jabs and show signs of not liking Todd. Season 14 saw Kandi prepare to finalize her trust on what would happen in the event she passes away. Kandi's eldest daughter, Riley Burruss, expressed concern about Todd managing her funds considering how strict he is with his eldest daughter, Kaela Tucker. When Kandi brought the topic up to her mom in a recent episode, Mama Joyce expressed doubt about Todd managing Kandi's funds.
Mama Joyce explained why she thinks Riley should have the most control and Kandi's longtime assistant Don Juan should be second in command. Joining Don Juan as second in command, Mama Joyce said she should be the one helping manage Kandi's trust. When viewers watched it back, many felt like Mama Joyce was the one after her daughter's money and not Todd. The viewer recalled a past reunion where Kandi became emotional while confronting Mama Joyce "about fraudulent credit cards in Kandi's name, where she forged Kandi's signature." The fan noted that incident and how Mama Joyce "NEVER apologized" to Todd's late mother about the rumors she spread about her.
