Kandi Burruss recently confirmed that she is returning for season 14 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Since season 13 wrapped earlier this year, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the upcoming cast of the Bravo series. Several current cast members are rumored to be leaving the series, such as Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams, while some former housewives are rumored to be returning, one of them being Shereé Whitfield.
Season 13 of RHOA was one of the lowest-rated seasons so far in the franchise. Besides the rumored affair between Porsha and the stripper, Bolo, from Cynthia's bachelorette party, not much drama happened last year. Bravo was allegedly looking into some kind of cast shake-up, even delaying the start of filming until they had a solid cast. Now that a few months have passed, it seems RHOA is ready to get back into their usually shady drama.
During a Q&A for an Amazon Live event, Kandi confirmed that she will be back on RHOA for season 14, as shared by @clubbravofan on Instagram. A fan asked the singer if she will be returning to the show and when filming for the new season will start. "As of now, I am told that I will be coming back on," Kandi, who got a breast reduction, revealed on camera. "We have not started filming yet. We are supposed to start soon. I cannot give you any exact dates because they haven’t given me any exact dates. And then they really haven’t given me permission to talk about it." RHOA usually starts filming during the summer but was pushed back after a delay in casting, something very common this year for the Housewives franchise. Whenever production for RHOA starts, Kandi admitted that she's "excited to start filming because I’m excited to see who is going to be in the mix this season."
Kandi, like many fans, has heard different speculations about who is returning and who is not. Several outlets have claimed Cynthia might not be returning this season, and if she does, she will be demoted to a 'friend of.' Other outlets have alleged Shereé may be returning; in fact, she left some subtle hints on her Instagram page. Kandi continued, "I am just as excited to know who is coming back and who’s going to be brand new." Andy Cohen recently confirmed they are currently figuring out who should be in the cast. The host admitted he has a list of six names whom he thinks will make up season 14; however, he did not reveal any of the names.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta will likely start filming towards the beginning of September. So far, no former cast members have confirmed their return besides Kandi. No matter who returns, leaves or joins the cast, it seems as though season 14 will be one of the best from the Atlanta ladies.
