Drew Sidora and her husband, Ralph Pittman, have been an open book about their marital issues in The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but fans are concerned about his treatment of her. Drew joined RHOA in season 13 and she couldn’t hide the strain in her marriage with Ralph. She described Ralph as being very macho and controlling and tends to run from their problems. A big point of contention between them last season was when he took off for a few days after a fight with Drew and didn’t tell her where he was or who he was with. After evading the question all season, he finally told her he went to Tampa, Florida, to clear his head.
In the RHOA season 14 premiere, Drew revealed what caused her to pack her bags and take her kids to Chicago. Before filming season 14, Drew had found inappropriate text messages between Ralph and his female assistant. Although Ralph claimed to have fired her, he told Drew he was still in contact with her. He told Drew he would stop talking to his former assistant if she asked him to, but she wanted him to make that decision for himself. Drew had a moment when she doubted herself, but when she told her RHOA castmates about Ralph’s text exchange with his assistant, they were shocked.
Drew confessed in RHOA season 14 that she often felt undermined and gaslighted by Ralph, which often resulted in her questioning the validity of her feelings. RHOA fans also see this side to Ralph and are appalled at his behavior. EverybodyLovesQuannn tweeted, “Drew Sidora husband gives me narcissist vibes. He deflects her emotions, he gaslights her, he will pick & poke at her insecurities to take away from her confidence & self esteem. Like how you want attention bro when we don’t even know youuuuu? Your wife is why you have any success.” Another RHOA fan warned, “Drew Sidora…you gotta leave that man.”
Many responded to Ralph’s statement in the latest RHOA episode that he “gave her steak and lobster,” but she really deserved a “Lunchable.” Ashelysteez tweeted, “Drew Sidora’s ‘husband’ is…bottom of the barrel. Every time we see them on tv together it just gets worse.” Another wrote, “Girl he said you deserved a lunchable.” A RHOA fan on Team Drew tweeted, “This man said Drew deserves a lunchable on national TV. I’mma tag her cus she should’ve swung.” Many fans applauded fellow RHOA star Kenya Moore for speaking up against Ralph in episode 3. Kenya claimed during a cast dinner that Ralph was “tearing her down.” Ralph just laughed at Kenya, which made her even more angry. Kenya related to Drew’s situation after being in a toxic marriage with her ex-husband Marc Daly. Marc often gaslighted Kenya and spoke down to her in public. After four years of marriage, the RHOA star filed for divorce, claiming it was “liberating.”
Drew confessed that she thought about divorcing Ralph after discovering the text messages, but she is determined to make it work for her children. Drew shares two children with Ralph: daughter Aniya and son Machai. She also has a son, Josiah, from a previous marriage, whom Ralph raises as his own. The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans hope Drew and Ralph can get it together for the sake of their children, but many can't fault her if she decides to leave.
