There are boss battles, puzzles, and plenty of combat encounters for players to experience in Reverie Knights Tactics. Developed by 40 Giants Entertainment and published by 1C Entertainment, Reverie Knights Tactics is a turn-based strategy game where players control up to four characters in intense combat encounters. In between challenging combat scenarios, players will solve puzzles and make important decisions that can change the outcome of the game.

Reverie Knights Tactics begins with the main character, Aurora, having a dark premonition about her upcoming travels. Despite her bad dream, she leaves on a journey to find and rescue her father, Marius. While progressing, Aurora will be joined by three additional companions to use in combat, but Aurora is the only character that makes game-altering decisions. Some of Aurora's choices also change her alignment, which will affect how she interacts with NPCs and her key decisions towards the end of the game.

There are three acts in Reverie Knights Tactics which are split up into a world map, a dungeon, a puzzle, and a boss fight. Both the world maps and the dungeons have mandatory and optional combat encounters for players to complete. Optional missions are given by NPCs and can range from rescuing prisoners to investigating a magical disturbance. Each optional mission presents players with unique storylines and challenging combat. With increasingly difficult combat encounters, being victorious will require players to think and move strategically.

Reverie Knights Tactics Review Dungeon Combat Encounter

In every combat situation, players will use action points for each member of their party to move or attack enemies. Players can impose status effects on their enemies, but they can also be hit with attacks that cause negative status effects such as sleep, burn, or bleed. Items can be used to avoid or negate status effects, as well as restore health and mana, or increase stats. A character's attributes can be increased by equipment or by spending a skill point each time they level up. Characters will level up by gaining experience in combat and completing challenges.

For every combat encounter in Reverie Knights Tactics, players will have a few challenges to complete. Challenges can be collecting chests, interacting with the environment, defeating specific enemies with group attacks, or other difficult tasks. Players can retry a combat encounter to complete challenges directly after winning the scenario, but once players move on, they aren't able to go back. Completing the challenges will award players extra experience and Cogni to spend on equipment at the main camp. Each piece of equipment can be purchased once and will positively affect the character that holds it. Equipment can increase stats, cause thorns damage, and give characters more health or mana. Choosing the right equipment will depend on the character, their base stats, and the way players use them in combat.

Reverie Knights Tactics Review Optional NPC Rescue

When players aren't battling Hobgoblins and Demons, they'll be solving puzzles to open up new paths or loot treasure chests. Once players receive the lockpick, they will be able to open the optional treasure chests found around the dungeons in Reverie Knights Tactics. The lockpick challenges involve twisting screws to clear the path to the lock and open it. Unlike the chests, there are three mandatory puzzles that players need to solve to progress in Reverie Knights Tactics. Players will need to complete challenges like solving a light beam puzzle in order to move on to the next stage.

Reverie Knights Tactics offers players a unique adventure with a variety of difficult challenges and combat scenarios. Players need to react quickly and develop different strategies for each type of enemy. The various enemy types to learn and conquer will keep players busy throughout the game. Although the story ends a bit abruptly, Reverie Knights Tactics has hours of content for players to explore and various optional activities to complete before reaching the final boss battle. Players can experience a fun and entertaining turn-based strategy game in Reverie Knights Tactics.
