The plot structure of Resident Evil Village has been leaked from beginning to end online through cutscene titles. Capcom's next mainline Resident Evil title continues the story of Ethan Winters from the previous game, and brings back series mainstay Chris Redfield, who appeared at the end of Resident Evil 7 and who seems to play an antagonistic and potentially monstrous role in the upcoming title.

Resident Evil Village has been hit particularly hard by the recent major Capcom leak. The developer saw much of its data stolen by a hacker group, who also potentially gained thousands of customers' personal information. In the days and weeks following the attack, these hackers have been spoiling a lot of info about Capcom's future releases. The studio's entire lineup for the next four years has been leaked as a result of this attack. As respected, the Resident Evil series is very prominent in the developer's plans for the future; in addition to Resident Evil Village, players can expect a remake of Resident Evil 4 and some spinoff titles, like Resident Evil Outrage.

But the release date of Resident Evil Village isn't the only thing about the upcoming horror game that was leaked. AltChar shared a photo from an anonymous Twitter post which shows the names of seventeen cutscenes in Resident Evil Village. As expected, these cutscenes contain tremendous spoilers for the entire plot of the game, so fans who want to preserve the surprise should stop reading now. The action seems to begin early with a car crash involving Ethan and someone named Elena, and, as can be expected from an entry in the Resident Evil series, things escalate quickly from there. There's mention of protagonist Ethan Winters dying off entirely, followed by a cutscene titled "Chris Edition Start," which seems to indicate that player control shifts to Chris Redfield at that time. A major antagonist named Miranda is involved throughout, and is defeated near the end of the cutscene list. There is also a giant bomb that gets installed at some point, which should make for some tense moments depending on who installs it and why.

The Resident Evil series is well known for its macabre, twist-driven storylines, and this game is shaping up to be a worthy successor to that legacy. The plot and gameplay that connect these cutscenes likely won't be truly understood until the game actually releases, but there is still a lot of information here to digest. Chris's bizarre and menacing actions during the game's trailers might be more justified than players thought, and since the final cutscene seems to depict him escaping by helicopter with Ethan's wife Mia, it's safe to say that there's more to his story than meets the eye.

The Capcom leak has been a majorly disruptive event in the gaming industry, and even now, almost a full month after the initial data breach, the community is still feeling its effects. It's still unclear just what the full scope of the hack is, or how much danger it poses to the customers whose personal info might have been leaked. There's certainly been a lot of exciting news coming out for fans of Capcom and Resident Evil Village, but it's important to remember just how dangerous this hack really is.
