The PC requirements and specs for Resident Evil Village have been revealed on Steam. The eighth installment in the popular and long-running horror franchise will pick up after the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The hardware requirements for RE8 are a bit higher than those of its predecessor, though. Here's everything to know about Resident Evil Village's PC specs.

As more information regarding RE8 continues to emerge, story details remain mostly a mystery. It's known that Resident Evil Village will follow Ethan Winters, and that the immensely popular tall woman, Lady Dimitrescu, will serve as some kind of antagonist. Besides hints and teases from the development team, a lot about RE8 remains a mystery. Now, however, players on PC know what to expect in terms of minimum and recommended requirements.

Thanks to Resident Evil Village's Steam page, the PC specs for the game have been revealed. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the hardware requirements for RE8 are a bit higher than RE7's. The minimum requirements for Resident Evil Village on PC need a 64-bit processor like the Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, needs at least 8 GB of RAM, and will work on the Windows 10 operating system. A NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB VRAM or AMD Radeon RX 560 with 4GB VRAM will be needed for graphics, which will run at 1080p and 60 fps when set to Prioritize Performance. Version 12 of DirectX will also be a minimum requirement.

Resident Evil Village has a shot of four ladies towering over the player, and one with white dress.

The recommended PC requirements for Resident Evil Village also need a 64-bit processor and Windows 10 operating system. Intel Core i7 8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processors are recommended, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 are encouraged for graphics. 16 GB of RAM and Version 12 of DirectX are also recommended; however, users will need a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT card to take advantage of the game's ray tracing.

Overall, the PC specs for Resident Evil Village aren't too surprising or ridiculous if players only use the minimum requirements. Capcom has been fairly forgiving when it comes to technical specs in Resident Evil games, and that tradition seems to continue with RE8. Of course, users will need better hardware to take advantage of Resident Evil Village's ray tracing.

Previously, not much had been revealed about how the game would run on PC, so it's great to see the PC specs finally unveiled on Steam. The minimum requirements for Resident Evil Village are pretty standard for a new AAA game, but players will need stronger hardware for the recommended or ray tracing options.
