Maggie Robertson's performance as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village captivated audiences before the game was even out, but the actor hasn't worked on many other games. The towering vampire who rules Castle Dimitrescu was a large part of RE8's pre-release promotion, becoming an instant fan-favorite from the franchise, and was an effective part of building excitement in the game's Maiden demo. Despite the popularity of Robertson's portrayal, Village is one of her only video game credits, because it was actually the first time she worked in motion capture and voice acting.

Robertson's character ultimately overshadowed Resident Evil Village's horror, but Lady Dimitrescu is still the most iconic part of the game. Although this is by far Robertson's most notable video game role, she actually has one more credit in the industry. She did the motion capture for Runway in Rogue Company, a tactical hero shooter that released in 2020. Although Rogue Company released a few months before RE8, it appears that Robertson's mo-cap work on the latter was her first experience with that sort of job.

Shortly after Village released, PC Gamer published an interview with Robertson where she discusses how she landed the role, unaware that it was for such a storied franchise. With no experience in the video game industry, the Resident Evil Village actor didn't expect internet fame, much less the extremely enthusiastic response to Lady Dimitrescu. As far as first outings in the video game industry go, it's hard to do much better than a celebrated role in the beloved Resident Evil franchise.

Maggie Robertson Won Multiple Awards As Lady Dimitrescu

Maggie Robertson won multiple awards for her first ever role in a video game as Resident Evil 8's Alcina Dimitrescu

Resident Evil Village was well received by both critics and players, going on to win many awards, some in large part due to Robertson's portrayal of Lady Dimitrescu. Robertson won Best Performance accolades from both The Game Awards and the Golden Joystick Awards in 2021. The 25th Annual DICE Awards also presented Village with the Outstanding Achievement in Character award for the creation of Lady Dimitrescu. There are many other people involved in developing a video game character, but Robertson's contribution is exceptionally notable as a breakout role.

Capcom has more content in the works, potentially including some free Resident Evil Village DLC in addition to the expansion that was announced last year. Unless the expansion is a flashback (or some creative writing is utilized), Lady Dimitrescu and Robertson will likely be absent. The actor has so far only done motion capture for two games, but with such a massive credit like Resident Evil Village under her name, it won't be surprising if Maggie Robertson shows up in more games sooner rather than later.
