There is growing speculation among Resident Evil Village players that Lady Dimitrescu may have been a jazz musician in a different life. Resident Evil Village released last month and has gone on to record impressive numbers, leading UK sales charts ahead of other popular titles like FIFA 21 and Grand Theft Auto V. It has already sold over 4 million copies and counting and also became the first Resident Evil title to pass 100,000 concurrent players on Steam.

Village is the eighth installment in the popular Resident Evil series and has earned critical success so far. Fans have especially appreciated the survival horror elements that are present throughout the game. Resident Evil Village has in many ways built from the foundations of the previous entries while creating its own identity. Each faction within Resident Evil Village feels authentic and offers different challenges and uniquely eerie moments. The game is massive, providing players with plenty of locations to explore. Capcom, keeping in line with one of its longstanding traditions, added clues and easter eggs to various locations around the eastern European landscape. Some of these focus on previous Resident Evil games while others reveal more about the game's characters.

In an interview with PolygonResident Evil Village Game Director Morimasa Sato has reignited interest in a clue about a certain Lady Dimitrescu. Fans have been questioning whether the vampiric character had ever dabbled with jazz music. This suggestion stems from a CD that can be found in the Winters home. The name of the artist is Miss D & the Pallboys and features an image of none other than the tall lady herself surrounded by performing musicians. Furthermore, the CD is close to different jazz CDs. The Game Director's responded, "I’ll leave it up to the player’s imagination whether she was a jazz singer in a past life, but she visually most definitely fits the part." That is a strong hint.

While Resident Evil Village is still entertaining scores and scores of players, attention has already been turning to what Resident Evil 9 might look like. The next title will be well poised to continue building from the immense success its predecessor is currently enjoying. Considering everything that the ending revealed, many players are already looking forward to the next installment.

Many players will probably have liked to know the full truth about the Lady Dimitrescu clue. However, it makes sense for developers to stay tight-lipped about certain game details. It adds an aura of ambiguity that improves the atmosphere of the game. This approach is consistent with the marketing strategies Capcom followed to promote Resident Evil Village. Capcom revealed very few details about the game's plot during promotional events. That method proved to be successful as it generated more excitement among the fanbase. This type of approach will likely lead to an enduring appreciation for the game's mysteries.
