Renowned horror game Resident Evil Village is getting some DLC due to the incredibly positive response to the game. Capcom announced that it is currently developing new DLC for Resident Evil Village during its E3 presentation, but didn't have much more to share at the moment. Whether or not fans will get a taste of this content later this year remains to be seen.

Resident Evil Village has sold tons of copies since launching in May, pushing millions of copies into the hands of players. Although Resident Evil isn't an obscure franchise by any means, it's easily one of the most successful and popular games in the long running franchise. The game also generated tons of positive buzz from fans and critics alike when it released, likely making it an easy choice for continued support.

Although there were seemingly no plans to add any additional DLC to Resident Evil Village beyond its multiplayer mode, RE:Verse, Capcom has confirmed it has entered development on additional content for the survival horror game. Resident Evil Village is still selling copies, so this is surely good news for fans who've picked it up. Although there's no telling what exactly Capcom will add to Village, the company could add in a DLC chapter that shows what Chris was up to during the first few hours of the story prior to meeting up with Ethan. As of right now, Capcom doesn't have any other info to share about the game.

Resident Evil Village DLC Confirmed By Capcom

Resident Evil Village's story is relatively open/shut, and there's not a lot of room to work with if the team doesn't make a Chris DLC. Ethan hasn't had any adventures since 7, and anything set after Village begins to impede on any potential directions that Capcom could do in the heavily rumored Resident Evil 9. Of course, there's also the chance that the developer could simply add a challenge mode or something similarly gameplay-focused, but that's probably not exactly what fans are hoping for.

had plenty of DLC chapters centered around its supporting cast of characters, so there's also a chance that the developer could focus on some of the villagers seen at the start of the game and show the collapse of the village. Resident Evil Village also had a demo before launch that wasn't connected to the main game and gave some context to Lady Dimitrescu and her castle. Some of the history there could be expanded upon as well, but it really remains to be seen what Capcom wants to do.
