A Resident Evil Village fan and artist has painstakingly recreated the Dimitrescu Crystal in stunning detail, bringing the in-game treasure to life. The Crystal is a valuable item given to players after defeating Village's toweringly tall Lady Dimitrescu, and like the Countess herself, looks both beautiful and deadly.
Resident Evil Village released earlier this year to critical acclaim, winning many awards for its impressive gameplay, graphics, and characters. The title continues the story of Ethan and Mia Winters following the events of Resident Evil 7, and sees protagonist Ethan face off against a host of ghoulish bosses known as the Four Lords. Each time the player defeats one of the formidable foes, they're presented with a Crystal variant of them, which can be sold for profit. Lady Dimitrescu is arguably the most popular of the Lords, if not the most popular character in the game, and many are hoping for Resident Evil Village's Four Lords to return for the in-development DLC.
Created by Instagram's cutemonsterprops, the Crystal Dimitrescu replica looks as though it's come straight out of Resident Evil Village, and is complete with intricate detailing and a full crystal base. The artist has previously shared some work-in-progress Instagram videos of their impressive creation, showcasing the 3D model and the pre-silicone phase of its design. Ensuring fans get a look at the finished replica before the end of the year, cutemonsterprops has shared the image while promising to deliver some more behind-the-scenes clips of the Crystal Dimitrescu soon. Resident Evil's Crystal versions of bosses players encounter throughout the game are a part of the lore introduced in Resident Evil Village. All of the game's antagonists are infected with both the Mold and the Cadou parasite, and the Four Lords are the rare beings who've successfully become infected with Cadou without it killing them, or turning them into Lycans. This is why the Four Lords are more powerful enemies, with unique powers not seen in other characters. The reason why the Lords, barring Donno Beneviento, leave behind crystals after being defeated is due to their cells turning into crystals due to the parasite.
While cutemonsterprops has still to unveil more of Crystal Dimitrescu's creation process, it's clear that a lot of hard work and skill went into its design and manufacture. It's not yet known if the artist plans to recreate more Resident Evil Village Lords Crystals - Crystal Heisenberg and Crystal Moreau - but the full set would definitely look impressive in the hands of any Resident Evil Village fan.
