Two new "Hardcore" cheats codes will add a new level of challenge for Resident Evil Village players, courtesy of game customization platform PLITCH. Resident Evil Village is a first-person survival horror video game set just a few years after the terrifying Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The gameplay for Village is almost identical to Biohazard but adds a few elements from previous Resident Evil games, such as the return of the merchant where items can be purchased to help advancement through the game.

Resident Evil Village's premise is set three years after Biohazard, and follows protagonist Ethan Winter and his wife and 6-month-old daughter. However, his wife is suddenly killed by Resident Evil series central character Chris Redfield, who takes Winter and his daughter to an eerie Eastern European village. The town is Resident Evil Village's titular village is run by four demonic leaders who terrorize and taunt Ethan with their henchman. Ethan is forced to endure the horror of this setting in order to save his newborn daughter.

To aid players' journeys - by increasing the game's difficulty - PLITCH is bringing two new "Hardcore" cheat codes to Resident Evil Village to make it even more challenging. PLITCH is a  trainer software that adds cheat codes to over 3,000 different PC video games. The first hardcore cheat code PLITCH offers is free, and it sets players' Lei to zero. Lei is the in-game currency that will enables Resident Evil Village players to buy weapons, weapons upgrades, inventory expansions, recipes and recovery items. The in-game currency is one of the most critical aspects to progressing through Resident Evil Village, so limiting its amount would be a true Achilles' heel.

PLITCH's second hardcore cheat code is a premium feature that requires payment. This cheat code allows players to reset their inventory to just a single item. As a result, players will be forced to face various threats with just a one reachable resource in their inventory. Whether it be a health item, extra ammo, or even another weapon, players would have to use near-perfect execution to progress - especially in the cases of multiple enemies, which often leads to Resident Evil Village's antagonists swarming players all at once.

These hardcore cheat codes may give Resident Evil Village fans something to be excited about as they wait for the Resident Evil Village DLC and Resident Evil RE:Verse. Maybe such cheat codes will inspire the developers to create new and exciting challenges for players in the future for the Resident Evil franchise.
