Resident Evil Village, the eighth main entry in the Resident Evil franchise, throws many tough challenges at players, among which is Urias, the giant. Although Urias’ boss fight occurs somewhat late in Resident Evil Village, players will first meet him when they first get to the village as a swarm of Lycans chase Ethan. Urias is a tough opponent that does massive damage with each swing, and his boss fight will undoubtedly challenge players’ skills.

As Ethan arrives at the village and is met with his first enemies in Resident Evil Village, he will eventually find himself being swarmed by Lycans as fiery arrows rain from above. After a few moments and a loud crash, Urias will enter the scene wielding a giant hammer. Although the goal of this event is to simply survive, it is possible to kill Urias, which will net players the "Timber" achievement and 35,000 Lei. This is only recommended for New Game Plus, as players should have enough upgraded weapons from their previous Resident Evil Village run to deal with Urias' massive health pool.

Urias is one of several giant enemies in Resident Evil Village, and players will find many similarities between them. Giants share the same attack patterns, so players may find themselves predicting their actions even if they have not faced a particular giant before. Ethan can block most of their hits, but their slow movement encourages players to attempt to dodge the damage entirely.

How to Defeat Urias in Resident Evil 8

Urias Resident Evil Village Giant

Urias, the giant Lycan in Resident Evil Village, like the other giant bosses, is very slow and very clearly telegraphs his attacks. To avoid vertical swings, players should use sprint to move to the side and toward the boss. Urias can also do a double horizontal sweep that can be dodged by crouching near him. When the giant begins to get low on health, he will start swinging wildly around himself, and players should attempt to sprint away from him, or, if that's not possible, they should try to crouch next to his left leg while blocking.

The columns present in the boss arena will be essential, as they can be used to block his attacks while maintaining a short distance to better aim for his head. Urias will eventually rip the column off the ground, which will give players a great opportunity to unload as many bullets as they can into his head. To dodge the column throw, players should get behind terrain or try to run behind the giant.

Because Urias gets more dangerous as the fight progresses, players should try to save Resident Evil Village's best weapons for the later stages of the encounter. The giant will also call two adds to the fight whenever he jumps onto the platform, and he will do a powerful jumping blow when dropping back to the ground. This attack can be safely dodged by moving to one of the sides of the room, and the adds should be killed as soon as possible, ideally by using explosives that simultaneously damage Urias.
