Though set outside of the games' mythology, Lance Reddick wants Milla Jovovich's Alice to return for Resident Evil season 2. The series is based on Capcom's video games of the same name and centers on Billie and Jade, the half-twin daughters of Albert Wesker, as they move to New Raccoon City in South Africa with their father, as he continues his work with the Umbrella Corporation. Resident Evil also follows Jade 14 years into the future, in which the T-virus has again destroyed the world, as she tries to find a way to restore the world while dealing with the demons from her past.

Ella Balinska leads the cast of Resident Evil as adult Jade alongside Lance Reddick as Wesker, Tamara Smart as younger Jade, Siena Agudong as younger Billie, Adeline Rudolph as older Billie and Paola Núñez as Evelyn Marcus, daughter to Umbrella founder James and new owner of the company. The Netflix series was developed by Supernatural vet Andrew Dabb with Constantin Film, the studio behind the Resident Evil movies, producing alongside Netflix and Moonlighting Films. Resident Evil is finally making its way to Netflix and one star is already looking to what the future can hold for the series.

While speaking with ComicBook.com for the series, Lance Reddick opened up about what major characters he would like to see in the potential Resident Evil season 2. Though noting he hasn't played the games, Reddick acknowledged the wealth of characters from the source franchise and expressed his interest in seeing Jovovich's Alice return. See what Reddick said below:

"Wow. It's so tough because I haven't played the games, even though I actually did watch most of the movies. There was one summer when I had a couple weeks where, don't ask me why, but I was binging late into like 4:00 in the morning watching the movies. But honestly, the films are so action-heavy that Milla Jovovich's character is the only one that I really remember. I feel that it would be really interesting to see if and how her character could come into this series."

Though borrowing elements from the games, the original Resident Evil movies from Paul W.S. Anderson infamously took major deviations from the source material, namely in its central protagonist, Milla Jovovich's Alice, created specifically for the films. Most of the movies received generally negative reviews, but were a hit with audiences across its six installments for its bombastic action sequences and Jovovich's leading turn as Alice. This fan following would see the Resident Evil films become the highest-grossing film series based on a video game and highest-grossing horror film series for some time, having grossed over $1.2 billion.

Given Netflix's Resident Evil series is set within the video game timeline, it seems unlikely Jovovich's Alice would make be able to make an appearance, at least not in the form audiences are used to. With that said, Jovovich has previously expressed she will always be interested in returning to the Resident Evil franchise if the opportunity presented itself, making it possible that the actress could appear as a different character in a potential season 2, should showrunner Andrew Dabb elect not to try and find a way to make Alice fit within the games' mythology. In the meantime, audiences can finally dive in to Resident Evil season 1 now streaming on Netflix.
