Here's a guide to all of the Raid Mode characters in Resident Evil: Revelations 2. The Resident Evil franchised debuted in 1996 and quickly became a gaming sensation. The series popularized the survival horror genre, which typically places players in an isolated location surrounded by monsters, and they have to survive with limited items and ammo. Resident Evil 2 swiftly followed in 1998 and was even more successful, and the franchise has evolved in interesting ways ever since.
A movie franchise arrived with 2002's Resident Evil, which starred Milla Jovovich, who would return for all five sequels. The gaming side of the series turned towards action in the mid-2000s, with Resident Evil 4 putting a greater emphasis on combat. After the mixed reception to 2012's overblown Resident Evil 6, Capcom steered the boat back towards survival horror with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and 2019's acclaimed Resident Evil 2 remake. The series has even spawned anime movies, such as 2017's Resident Evil: Vendetta, in addition to numerous comics and novels.
Longtime fans of the Resident Evil franchise stated their displeasure with the overt focus on action, which is one of the reasons the Revelations offshoot was created. The first Resident Evil: Revelations combined oldfashioned survival horror with action setpieces and proved popular enough to spawn Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which found fan favorites Claire Redfield and Barry Burton trapped on an island with new bioweapons. Each character in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Raid Mode comes with their own unique set of skills and abilities. The mode itself can be an addictive little timesink and is a great alternative to The Mercenaries mode from other Resident Evil games. With the franchise leaning back towards survival horror, the future of the Resident Evil: Revelations offshoot is in doubt, and another game has to be confirmed.
The next title will be Resident Evil 3 - a remake of 2000's PS1 title Resident Evil 3: Nemesis - will arrive in 2020. The game charts series regular Jill Valentine's escape from Raccoon City, whilst being chased by a relentless, Terminator-style tormentor known as the Nemesis. The Nemesis himself would have been a fun addition to Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Raid Mode, but sadly he didn't make the cut.
