The page was initially set up by Maus' fiance, Dusty Warren, when Maus was initially diagnosed with colon cancer eight months ago. This is following her contracting COVID-19 as well. The funds will be able to cover part of the medical expenses while many have continued to give to help out with more medical expenses as well as any funeral funds that might be needed.

Jeanette Maus has had a few small television roles over the years and was a successful and well-renowned acting teacher at the John Rosenfeld Studios for young actors in West Hollywood. Capcom has given its condolences as well in a statement posted on Twitter. Jeanette Maus was loved by her colleagues and students alike, showing a true passion for her endeavors that is rarely seen by fans. Her role in Resident Evil Village will hopefully draw attention to her other works, such as Charm City Kings and the upcoming TV series Stellar People.
