Throughout the rest of October, Capcom plans on rolling out new Resident Evil reveals in celebration of the long-running franchise's 25th anniversary. The publisher has already commemorated Resident Evil's 25th anniversary in several ways; in fact, one such celebration went live earlier this year with a limited-time RE crossover in The Division 2.

Behaviour Interactive's asymmetrical multiplayer title Dead by Daylight similarly honored the beloved horror series by hosting a Resident Evil Chapter. The DLC launched over the summer, introducing a Raccoon City Police Station map, playable characters Chris and Claire Redfield, and Resident Evil 3's Nemesis as a new Dead by Daylight Killer. But the biggest observance of the series' milestone came with the advent of Resident Evil Village, an RE7 sequel that brought Ethan Winters and his wife Mia back into the fold. Capcom has quite the success story on its hands, too, given that RE Village sold 4.5 million units in only a matter of weeks. And the publisher intends to let loose even more surprises in the lead up to Halloween.

A Halloween-themed Resident Evil website has gone live in honor of the 25th anniversary, as spotted by Twitter user Nibel. The new site from Capcom features nine boxes aligned in rows, each one with a date attached that teases an upcoming Resident Evil reveal. Two of the boxes are already filled in, one highlighting previously showcased merchandise and another designated to the RE4 VR announcement for Oculus and Quest 2. Thus, seven mysterious reveals remain, three of which will surface on October 21. Capcom penciled in another two announcements for October 22; the final two should arrive on October 25 and October 29. Nibel shared a screenshot of the webpage in the following Twitter post:

The website's merchandise and Resident Evil 4 VR mentions suggest the next seven news items won't be anything of great consequence. But who knows what Capcom has up its sleeve? In one way or another, the publisher always manages to surprise fans, especially when it comes to Resident Evil.

Last year's Capcom data breach showed the company had multiple RE projects in development, including titles bearing the codenames of Hank and Biohazard Apocalypse. Might these mystery games see the light of day in the coming weeks? We'll have to wait and see. Plus, there's RE Village DLC that still needs proper details, though that particular announcement may take a while since its original tease just made the rounds during E3 2021.
