Resident Evil's Rebecca Chambers has been a popular character in the survival horror series since its start, and with her inclusion in Dead By Daylight's Resident Evil: Project W DLC chapter, nine different actors have been credited as the character's voice. Rebecca's only had a spotty appearance in the series' history, but the number of actors that have played her approaches the numbers one might expect from Chris Redfield or Leon Kennedy. While there's no official word regarding the transitive nature of her role, some clues shed a light on the mystery.

Rebecca Chambers appeared in the very first game as a supporting character in Chris Redfield's route, and outside its prequel, Resident Evil Zero, she mostly continued in such a capacity as something of a lost Resident Evil character. Lynn Harris voiced the original Rebecca in the first game, with Hope Levy taking the role in the 2002 remake. Riva Di Paolo played her starring role in Resident Evil 0. Stephanie Sheh has the most times playing the role for the English dub, with credit for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and both of her mercenary appearances in Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. Erin Cahill played Rebecca in the Resident Evil Vendetta movie, and Megan Orvold-Scheider for her latest appearance in Dead By Daylight. Her actors for other dubs are more consistent, with Ami Koshimizu holding all noticeable credit for her Japanese dubs and Luisa Viotti playing her in the Brazilian dubs. And the last credit goes to a "Linda" who asked to remain anonymous for her work on the classic Resident Evil game's FMVs.

The revolving door of skilled actors taking turns bringing Resident Evil's soft-hearted and kind Rebecca Chambers to life can mostly be attributed to the fact that the character's inconsistent appearances doesn't lend her to any one voice. The first time Rebecca chambers had returned in any acting capacity after her first game was six years later, in the Resident Evil remake in 2002 and Resident Evil 0. After that, Capcom only ever dabbled her into cameos and some cinematic ventures. While these were slightly more consistent, they also constantly had different interpretations and visions of Rebecca, necessitating recasts regardless. The last Resident Evil game she would even be playable in would be the Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D spinoff. At the very least, fans can play her once more in Dead By Daylight's latest Resident Evil DLC chapter, Project W.

Rebecca Has Only Appeared In Resident Evil Sparingly

Resident Evil hasn't featured Rebecca Chambers enough for the character to have a set voice actor.

All the actors that have portrayed Rebecca Chambers have had other roles and obligations to attend to whenever Capcom did deign to include the plucky S.T.A.R.S. medic. Lynn Harris, the original voice, was also the voice director for the entire project to localize the Capcom original for the states. She since went on to explore music, news, and radio, never returning to the Resident Evil series after its western debut. Several of the other actors, including Hope Levy and Stephanie Sheh, would pursue television, anime, and movies over video games. Megan Orvold-Scheider is just as busy with a heavy metal music career as voice acting in general, taking roles in between album releases from her band Casket Robbery.

From teaming up with other survivors in Dead By Daylight, to fighting the undead, biological weapons in Resident Evil, Rebecca Chambers has accrued a kind of cult following among players with her genuine and caring attitude and determination to see her allies through the thick of it. Perhaps the character's varied and diverse roster of representation lends to the overall character with a kind of enchanting mystery beside the tender care she provides the player. That, or maybe some people haven't gotten over finding the tediously hidden photo of Rebecca in Resident Evil 2.
