There appears to be a never-ending amount of treasure and hidden secrets throughout Resident Evil 4 Remake, however, all require first solving some puzzle or completing some task. In this case, there are eight Locked Drawers scattered throughout the game that all appear to be holding some sort of valuable treasure, but opening them requires finding the corresponding eight Small Keys.

Unlike many of the other treasure puzzles, there is not one key that will unlock all eight drawers. There is also no specific key for each drawer. Any of the eight Small Keys can open any of the eight Locked Drawers. While this is nice because it allows a little more freedom in unlocking them, it also means that sixteen different things must be found in order to receive all the treasure.

All Small Key Locations

Resident Evil 4 Remake Small Key

Keeping an eye out through the entire playthrough will be vital to finding these eight keys as they are scattered across chapters from beginning to end. There are three main areas of the game and each has a point in which the area is considered complete and cannot be returned to without a manual save file. For this reason, it is recommended that players ensure they have acquired all the keys in the area before proceeding past these points.

The Merchant will warn you when passing areas of no return by recommending you explore the area before proceeding. This is when you should go ahead and gather anything you missed in the area.

Chapter 2

Village

In the Valley, the key will be found in the main house of the area. There will be a shelving unit, in the smaller room, next to a barricaded window. The first Small Key will be resting there in an open container.

When inside the Village Chief's Manor, check out the first floor. This key will be resting in one of the corners on a pile of papers next to a couch. While here, head to the room upstairs and take the attic ladder up to also procure one of the many Clockwork Castellans.

Chapter 3

When collecting the boat fuel to cross the lake, look inside the very small shack next to where the fuel is found. The key will be in a drawer inside there.

Chapter 4

After climbing the ladder up to the Forest Altar area, head to the left and the key will be sitting on top of a barrel there.

When entering the Church, head straight down the aisle to the podium. The key is sitting on a table off to the right.

Chapter 8

Castle

After completing the Lithographic Stone Puzzle, head down the corridor in the Bindery, into the room where Leon sees the shadow through the doorway. The key will be sitting on a box off to the left.

Chapter 9

When standing in front of the headless statue, facing the direction of the stairs, take the staircase up to the right. Then head through the first available door on the right into the room. The key is in a small table drawer off to the left, just past the suits of armor.

Chapter 12

After all the chaos in the mines with Luis in Chapter 11, players will begin Chapter 12 by taking an elevator to an area with a Merchant's Shop. If walking straight out of the elevator, there will be a table with a briefcase to the left. The final key is inside the case.

All Locked Drawer Locations

Resident Evil 4 Remake Dresser and Key

One nice benefit to this key and lock combination is not only that any key can open any drawer, but that Resident Evil 4 Remake makes it very convenient to locate the drawers with the number of keys Leon should have at any point.

The drawers are not always in the exact same Chapters as the keys, but as long as all keys are collected as they are passed, there should be no need to miss any Locked Drawers while progressing.

Chapter 2

Village

Head inside the Abandoned Factory and take the iron door to the left. In this small office room, there will be a table to the right with a Locked Drawer.

Elegant Mask

Chapter 3

In the Village Square, there will be some ruined houses. Head inside the one on the opposite side, if coming from the Village Chief Manor path, that is between two other houses. Immediately inside the door to the right will be the Locked Drawer.

Vintage Compass

North of the Quarry, where the Shooting Gallery and Merchant's Shop are, there will be a ladder off to the left heading down to a dock area. Go directly to the right at the end of the ladder and there will be a Locked Drawer to the left.

Brass Pocket Watch

Chapter 4

Inside the main house of the Lakeside Settlement area, there will be a Locked Drawer to the left immediately after heading through the door.

1x Gold Bar

Exit the Church and go left. Take the first available path around the exterior church and head through the first door on the left into a room. There will be a Locked Drawer to the right.

1x Yellow Diamond

Chapter 8

Castle

In the Bindery corridor, immediately after finding the Small Key there, go back down the way you came to the Bindery room. Before going through the door, the Locked Drawer is next to it on the left.

Brass Pocket Watch

Chapter 9

In the middle of the Audience Room, when facing the stairs that lead to a Merchant Shop, there will be a Locked Drawer off to the right.

1x Gold Bar

Chapter 12

Starting from the Courtyard, head through the door to the Castle Battlements area, where an armored El Gigante fight occurred, and head through the first available archway into an interior area. Go far right, not up the ladder, where the final Locked Drawer will be waiting.

1x Ornate Beetle

Now that all eight treasures have been found, head to the nearest Merchant’s Shop to sell them off for a large sum of Pesetas. That money can then be put forward to purchase upgrades for weapons which is highly recommended before continuing on to the end of Chapter 12.

At that point, Leon will be leaving the Castle for good and heading to the final area of Resident Evil 4 Remake where players will face some of their hardest fights yet, including the daunting Lord Saddler. However, with all the purchasable upgrades, the final piece of this game should be a breeze.
