The wait to return to Raccoon City is almost over, as the demo for the Resident Evil 3 remake will be released this Thursday. Capcom has been teasing a Resident Evil 3 demo for the past month, in the run-up to its release in April.

Resident Evil 3 is a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, which was released for multiple platforms back in the late '90s/early '00s. The game follows Jill Valentine from the original Resident Evilas she attempts to escape from Raccoon City as it falls to an outbreak of the T-Virus. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was more of an action game than its predecessors and the survival horror elements were less of a factor, especially now that Jill was being pursued through the city by a tyrant monster known as Nemesis.

The fans will have a chance to experience a piece of Resident Evil 3 this week, as the Resident Evil Twitter page has announced that a demo will be released on March 19 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. According to a press release issued by Capcom, the demo will involve Jill teaming up with Carlos as they help citizens escape from the city while fighting zombies and being pursued by Nemesis. The demo will feature a new cinematic trailer for the game. There will also be a scavenger hunt mission, where Jill has to find and destroy twenty statues of Mr. Charlie in Raccoon City while being pursued by Nemesis.

Not only is there a Resident Evil 3 demo coming, but there is also an open beta for Resident Evil Resistance starting on March 27. Resident Evil Resistance is the multiplayer part of Resident Evil 3 and it will pit groups of players against monsters and traps planted by another player, who takes on the role of a Mastermind, represented by one of the villains from the Resident Evil series. In the beta, one player can take on the role of the Daniel Fabron Mastermind, while the other players will have access to four of the six survivors from the full version of the game.

The people who were on the fence about the Resident Evil 2 demo were swiftly won over last year when they had a brief chance to return to Racoon City. The excellent Resident Evil 2 demo made both fans and newcomers excited for the game. The fact that Resident Evil 3 is being released so close to Resident Evil 3 means that some of that luster will be lost, but the widespread acclaim for Resident Evil 2 means that fans are still hyped to escape from Raccoon City once more.
