Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has introduced several new mechanics to the franchise. One of the most notable new features includes a large change to the map and location icons. Locations of interest are depicted by blue, yellow, and grey dots of varying size in the compass at the top of the screen representing side quests, wealth, and mysteries and artifacts respectively. This may vary for players depending on the exploration setting they chose. The exploration settings have made gathering skill points seamless while proceeding through the game due to the compass markers.

Another very controversial change to this game has been the adaptation of a skill tree. Unlike past skill trees, players have more control over stats and damage output by their character. This can also be seen as a negative, as the tree is divided up into three schools, raven, wolf, and bear, and each school represents a particular play style that may not work with how the player may choose to play. The skill tree also limits the availability of skills by the amount of power the player has. Power is relatively easy to obtain as players can receive power from even simple quests. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla continuously makes players feel rewarded by providing many opportunities to obtain skill points via cairns, side missions, and experience. This guide will assist players in resetting skill points in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.

How to Respec Skill Points in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Complete Skill Tree Assassins Creed Valhalla

Unlike the franchise's previous installment Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, it costs nothing to reset skills in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. Players can even reset individual skill nodes. To reset individual nodes, players can hover over the node in cursor mode and select the reset node option. Players will also be prompted to reset all nodes in the Skills menu.

Before the recent Update 1.0.4, players could not see every skill available and could resort to applying points, resetting points, and repeating to uncover the entire skill tree. After update 1.0.4, players do not have this problem. The recent update also implemented an auto-assign feature that would automatically assign skill points for the player. This is not especially helpful, however, as the feature seems to evenly distribute the skill points and doesn't take play style or equipment loadout into account. As updates proceed, players are sure to expect several changes and quality of life improvements to come.
