Players can rematch every Gym Leader in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Gym Leaders are used as a benchmark to test how far the player has come with training their Pokémon. After collecting the eight badges in the region, players can face off against the Elite Four and battle the Champion for ultimate bragging rights. However, since players face off against the Gym Leaders throughout the game, many of them might be too easy for the player during their initial battle. Fortunately, Pokémon BDSP allows players to do rematches against the Gym Leaders. Only this time, they'll have a much stronger team.

For example, Roark is the first Gym Leader in the game, and none of his Pokémon go over Level 15. In the rematch, all Gym Leaders have their Pokémon set to above level 60 and level 70. They also feature new and complete sets of their original Pokémon team, including new Held Items, move sets, and abilities. Players looking for rematches will need to prepare beforehand to win.

Players must defeat the Elite Four and become the Champion to unlock access to the Gym Leader rematches. After returning to Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town, players can unlock the National Dex. Roark will appear out of the ground and let the player know that rematches are now available upon leaving the lab. Now, players can return to any Gym Leaders and challenge them to a rematch. Just approach them within their gyms and speak to begin the battle.

Rechallenging Gym Leaders in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Roark is Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's first Gym Leader.

Each Pokémon on these new teams will feature a Pokémon holding an item. These can change the tide of battle and make it much more difficult for trainers to overcome. Not only that, but each Pokémon has proper EVs and IVs, which make these Pokémon stats even stronger than before. Each Pokémon also has a competitively viable move set, meaning these are the kind of strategies human players would use to win the Pokémon World Championships series. Overall, they are some of the toughest battles in the game.

Trainers might need to grind to reach higher levels to defeat Gym Leaders in a rematch. Fortunately, there are a few different ways to level up fast in Pokémon BDSP. Upon defeating each Gym Leader, players will be rewarded with a new Pokéball Customization item. These can be used to continue to customize the look of the Pokéball Capsules. It's worthy to point out that these rematch battles are optional and are there to test the trainer's skills.
