The career of Regis Philbin is vast. He's one of the biggest stars in the history of television and he's done it all. From game shows to talk shows to guest spots to movies, Regis has been a fixture of television culture for decades.

As such, he has tons of IMDb credits to his name. The following films and shows are ranked according to their IMDb rating, but they do exclude the one-episode guest spots Regis featured in for a number of television series. (For example, Seinfeld is hardly a Regis Philbin television show, even if he did make a cameo.) Shockingly, none of the iterations of Live made the list, but there's still plenty of Regis to love here!

America's Got Talent - 5.8

America's Got Talent has seen a number of different hosts over its fifteen seasons (as well as a 30 Rock parody in "America's Kidz Got Singing"). However, Regis was the host for the very first season!

He didn't stick around long and Nick Cannon still has the longest tenure of any host on the series. Yet, the Regis year had a bit more gravitas to it than any other.

Shrek The Third - 6.1

It's not one of Regis Philbin's most iconic roles, but he does show up in two of the Shrek films as Mabel the Ugly Stepsister. It may just be voice acting, but it's still a feat of Regis' powers all the same.

After all, Larry King portrayed another ugly stepsister, Doris. It only makes sense that Regis would accompany the casting choice with some vocal stretching of his own.

Million Dollar Password - 6.2

Password is one of the most popular game shows of all-time and it's received numerous revivals over the years. One such revival came in 2008 from the talent of Regis himself with Million Dollar Password!

The series only lasted two seasons, but Regis obviously had a knack for hosting the stalwart game show. It struck a decent balance between fresh excitement and reverence for Password traditions.

I'm Still Here - 6.2

I'm Still Here is a bizarre mockumentary from 2010 that was directed by Casey Affleck. It saw Joaquin Phoenix pretending to go through a phase in his life that turned his acting talents into rapping talents.

To this day, few know what to make of I'm Still Here. Regis was one of the many figures to appear as himself in the film (albeit, unknowing that it was a spoof), which also included Ben Stiller, Jack Nicholson, and David Letterman.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - 6.3

The iterations of Live that Regis hosted with Kathie Lee Gifford and Kelly Ripa are probably his biggest claim to fame, but Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is up there, too. For a while, this was the most popular game show in the world!

Since Regis hosted it, it's received a number of different reboots, including the latest one from Jimmy Kimmel. Nothing will ever top the Regis years of the show, though.

Shrek Forever After - 6.3

Returning now to the land of fairy tales, the fourth Shrek movie was better received by IMDb users than the third, The Third. In this, Regis once again plays Mabel, albeit with a lesser role than in Shrek the Third.

At the time, Shrek Forever After brought the franchise to an end so it was more geared around Shrek and Fiona. The Dreamworks animated series always found time for Regis, however.

The Great Buck Howard - 6.4

The Great Buck Howard is a 2008 comedy from Sean McGinley that starred Colin Hanks as a writer and John Malkovich as a mentalist. Like many of the roles listed here, Regis played himself. (Sensing a pattern yet?)

Regis shows up when Buck Howard begins to reignite his performances by appearing on a number of different talk shows. It was in this capacity that Regis always shone.

Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid To Ask) - 6.8

Regis Philbin once again portrays himself in the 1972 comedy of vignettes, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask), from Woody Allen. (Yes, that title is as long and complicated as Allen's career.)

Regis appears in the fifth segment of the film, which features a fake game show called "What's My Perversion?" In this scene, Regis is one of the figures tasked with guessing the contestant's perversion. That man has been working the game show circuit for half a century!

The Joey Bishop Show - 7.5

Speaking of half a century ago, The Joey Bishop Show was an ABC talk series that ran from 1967 to 1969. In addition to being a part of the Rat Pack, Joey Bishop also gave Regis Philbin his first (major) recurring television role.

Regis was a sidekick on the talk show, which ran for 640 episodes. It definitely gave a jump start to his career and was the most memorable thing to come from the entire show.

That Regis Philbin Show - 8.3

Lastly, That Regis Philbin Show is the highest entrant on Regis' IMDb that was not a one-off guest appearance or daytime television special. It's fitting that the number one series is the one that has his name featured most prominently.

The Ryan Seacrest of his time, Philbin's career was undeniably electrified by Bishop. However, it came courtesy of his hosting stint (from 1964 to 1965) on That Regis Philbin Show. It had next to zero popularity, but clearly those on IMDb have quite the reverence for it.
