Where (& How) to Refuel Cars in Fortnite

This guide will teach players where they can find Gas Canisters and Gas Station, and how they can be used to refuel vehicles in Fortnite.

Players can now take a joy ride around Battle Island with the new addition fo cars and trucks in Fortnite. This new update is fittingly called Joy Ride and has added propper cars into the world of Fortnite for the first time since its launch in 2017. However, players won't be able to drive too far before having to make a pit stop to fill up on gas.

Along with cars and trucks, Fortnite has added an element of realism that forces the player to fill their vehicles with gas every so often. A vehicle that runs out of gas is no longer operatable so a player will need to keep their eye on the gas gauge that can be seen in the bottom right corner of the screen when driving a vehicle. Here is where and how to refuel a vehicle with gas in Fortnite.

Where and How to Refuel Fortnite Vehicles

There are two methods of refueling a vehicle. The first is with a new item called a Gas Can which can appear as floor loot or in chests. These cans are carryable items that take up a slot in the player's inventory, and when filled with gas they can be used on a vehicle by approaching a vehicle and pressing the corresponding button that appears on the screen. However, the gas can only be sued so many times, so players will need to refill the Gas Can when it gets empty.

Refilling the Gas Can can be done the same way a player can fill up their vehicle. And adding another layer of realism, players will need to visit gas stations to fill up cars and Gas Cans with fuel. There are 13 different gas stations located at different POIs and landmarks around Battle Island. Players can approach gas while holding a gas canister or can drive their vehicle up to the pump. Regardless, players will have to detach a pump from the gas pump and use it to manually fill up the car or the container. Similarly to medkits or shield pots, it takes some time to fill up a car and gas tank.
