Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured plenty of wild twists and surprises, not the least of which being the lineup to its alternate-universe of the Illuminati, which consisted of several incredible cameos, including fan-favorite casting choice of John Krasinski as Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic.

While Earth-838's Reed Richards met a grisly and untimely end, the MCU has yet to introduce its own version of the highly anticipated character, who is set to appear alongside the rest of the Fantastic Four in their own solo film in the near future. However, fans may not have to wait too long before they see Mister Fantastic return, as there are several upcoming projects that the character could easily appear in.

Loki Season 2

Loki wears horns in Loki

Loki remains the only live-action MCU series to be confirmed for a second season, which is likely to premiere sometime in early 2023. The season is expected to delve deeper into the multiverse, along with an extended appearance from the villainous Kang the Conqueror himself.

Loki's second season is shaping up to be one of the most interesting multiversal entries in the MCU, as it vows to directly build on Kang's villain tease from the first season. What certain fans may not know is Kang is a descendant of Reed Richards himself, who could find his way into some of the next few episodes, perhaps finally introducing fans to the MCU's version of the character.

Ms. Marvel

Ms Marvel Trailer Breakdown Kamala Khan Avengers Event

Ms. Marvel is the next installment of the MCU on the horizon, set to make its Disney+ debut in the coming weeks. The series will introduce a brand-new hero to the franchise and is set to take a completely fresh approach, unlike anything that has been seen in the MCU before.

While this series may initially seem like a fun romp through a high school story, it may have bigger implications for the MCU than viewers realize. The comic version of Kamala Khan already has a connection to one member of the Illuminati, as both she and Black Bolt are Inhumans. Therefore, if the MCU's version of the Illuminati does appear in this series, viewers shouldn't be surprised to see Reed Richards appear once more.

Captain America 4

Captain america 4 risks undermining falcon and the winter soldier ending

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may not be receiving a second season, but it will be continuing in the form of a fourth Captain America film, with Sam Wilson taking on the iconic title after Steve Rogers's retirement. Though it is unclear when this film will premiere, it is confirmed to begin production very soon.

There is no doubt that Captain America 4 will do plenty of legwork when it comes to establishing the new status quo of the MCU post-Blip, much like its preceding series did. If this is the case, it may be the perfect place to introduce the heroes set to take the lead in the world after the Avengers: the Fantastic Four. It just may be that Sam Wilson has an encounter with their elastic leader at some point in this highly-anticipated film.

Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania

Antman and the Wasp Quantumania

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is shaping up to be the most exciting entry of Marvel's smallest franchise, especially with the announcement that the film is the next confirmed appearance of Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror. The film has a brand-new release date, slated in February of next year.

The third film in the Ant-Man franchise will likely be quite different from the previous two, as it seems set to change the MCU forever. Given the intimate connection between the film's villain and Reed Richards, many have speculated that Quantumania could serve as the Fantastic Four's introduction to the MCU, perhaps even revealing that the team has been stuck in the Quantum Realm for the past several decades, as has been a prominent theory leading up to their arrival.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Black Panther Wakanda Forever

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the highly-anticipated sequel to the hit 2018 original film, which is set to premiere later this year. The film will have a major undertaking on its hands, as it will be tasked with honoring the memory of Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in late 2020, though Marvel Studios has remained secretive about just how they will continue the Black Panther legacy.

Due to the sheer lack of information about this film, dozens of theories have been swirling about its story, characters, and potential villains. One speculation concerning the latter of these categories suggests that Doctor Doom might serve as the film's main antagonist, which would certainly portend a cameo appearance from Richards and the other members of the Fantastic Four.

What If...? Season 2

The watcher Guardians of the multiverse What if

With the explosive events that have taken place so far in the MCU's Phase 4, there are plenty of avenues to explore for What If's second season. While the animated anthology series has yet to receive a release date for its upcoming collection of episodes, some have speculated that fans could see the next season before the end of 2022.

If What If...? does intend to revisit the events of Multiverse of Madness, the surefire route would be to explore what might have happened had the Scarlet Witch not been able to overcome the Illuminati of Earth-838, giving this clandestine council the chance to fight back.

Armor Wars

Rhodey in the MCU

Don Cheadle is finally getting his own spinoff series as War Machine in Armor Wars. Though news on this limited series is scarce, it may very well expand the MCU in unexpected ways, as Tony Stark's prolific technology begins to fall into the wrong hands.

Armor Wars is set to deal with the most dangerous and high-tech weaponry in the world, and who better to deal with such a threat than the smartest man alive? Reed Richards's smarts could be put to good use should he team up with Rhodey to solve this global crisis, even if he only shows up in the form of a small cameo building up to the character's next featured appearance.

The Marvels

Captain Marvel The Marvels

Despite its recent release date delays, The Marvels remains one of the most exciting upcoming entries to the MCU, as it is set to unite three iconic heroes for the first time. In this film, Captain Marvel, Photon, and Ms. Marvel will team up to take on a cosmic threat in Zawe Ashton's as-yet-unconfirmed villain.

The Marvels has yet to reveal much in terms of story or characters, meaning that everything is still on the table in terms of cameos. While the plot will allegedly take place in space, this does not mean that Richards and the Fantastic Four couldn't still make an appearance. After all, many incarnations of the characters include a space mission as the inciting incident in which they receive their powers.

Secret Invasion

Nick Fury and a bunch of Skrulls

Secret Invasion is looking to be one of the most formative installments of the MCU's fourth phase, featuring the first confirmed appearance of Nick Fury since Spider-Man: Far From Home. The series is set to change the franchise forever, as several characters will turn out to be Skrull imposters, perhaps even Fury himself.

If Secret Invasion is anything like the event from the comics, it will be a storyline that affects all corners of the Marvel Universe, with lasting impacts for years. As such, no area of the MCU will be left untouched by the Skrull Invasion, including the Fantastic Four and Reed Richards.

Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four MCU Logo

Kevin Feige and the executives at Marvel Studios have their work cut out for them in putting together the third live-action rendition of the iconic Fantastic Four team in the last two decades. The group is confirmed to be receiving its own film, which will most likely act as the finale to Phase 4, though its release date is not yet officially confirmed.

While there is no doubt that Reed Richards will appear in the MCU's reboot of the Fantastic Four, the question remains whether their eponymous film will act as the very next appearance of the team. It may be the best bet, but most fans likely hope that they won't have to wait this long to see Krasinski's character appear once more.
