The Bob's Burgers Movie hits theaters on May 27, 2022, just five days after the conclusion of the series' 12th season. Bob's Burgers is a heartwarming, intelligent sitcom with note-perfect vocal work, a breezy pace, and an admirably progressive worldview, and it has earned its fair share of fans over the years.

It remains to be seen where the movie will rank among the series' decade-plus of material, but if it comes anywhere close it will be in well-received company because Redditors see even Bob's Burgers' "worst" season as a thing to celebrate. However, there's little doubt that the quality of the series has been elevated as the years have progressed and the characters have come into their own.

Season 10

Gene playing with music equipment in Bob's Burgers while Tina and Louise look on

Season 10 isn't despised on Reddit, but the general attitude is mostly dismissive. However, Bob's Burgers' celebration of a decade on air gave most of its primary characters a memorable episode to lead. "Poops!...I Didn't Do It Again" was both a great Louise-centric episode as well as a touching look at her relationship with her father. "A Fish Called Tina" was another attempt by Tina to grow up and hold responsibility, which is usually where the character shines and she does.

A now-deleted user wrote, "There has definitely been a severe decline since its peak in Seasons 4&5. " NaterXander also posted about the season, writing about the show's change in tone: "They've leaned too far into the wholesome family aspect and is trying to be a good wholesome show for entire families instead of being an edgy, rough around the edges, sometimes dark humor show." The Redditor has a point bout the show's edges getting softened, but it's all subjective whether that's a good or bad thing.

Season 9

Tina sits with a goose from Bob's Burgers

Season 9 may contain one of the best Tina Belcher episodes, "Every Which Way But Goose," but its response overall is fairly mixed on Reddit.

On the positive side, there's smooshybeans with "I think Season 9 has some fantastic episodes. 'What about Blob?' One of my favorites! I think it just takes a couple of watches before it feels like it fits." On the negative side, milkstea10 articulated a point shared by others: "All the episodes feel forced and they are not nearly as funny as any of the past seasons." Harsh criticism, but there's little doubt Bob's Burgers' impact has decreased a bit, even if it is still a heartwarming and humorous show.

Season 8

Linda, Teddy, and Gene look on while a woman sits behind a keyboard from Bob's Burgers

Bob's Burgers would sink lower (in the eyes of Redditors), but there still isn't much online fandom for Season 8. With that being said, it has its bright spots, namely the Tina-centric "Boywatch" and the Bob-Linda episode "The Date Escape."

Xo_amarie, a frequent contributor on Bob's Burgers Reddit threads, wrote "...it was a middle of the road season, maybe I will like it more when I rewatch it over again and again lol...." Then, Banana42 replied, "Definitely middle of the road, but I liked that it was highs and lows instead of mediocre throughout."

Season 1

Gene making a face in Spaghetti Western and Meatballs

Bob's Burgers reached viewers' televisions for the first time in 2011 and has been consistently delivering episodes ever since. As with any other show, the premiere year featured main characters who had yet to develop their main personalities, but there are still 13 fun episodes, some of which rank among the most rewatchable of the series. The first season also introduced the titular Bob's Burgers diner, a cartoon restaurant fans wished were real.

OldMoviesFan championed two seasons, with the debut season taking half the praise: "Seasons 1 and 3 had the most outrageously funny episodes. The ones that made me choke while laughing." After another Redditor then put it at the bottom of their ranking, Xo_amarie agreed with some of their points but added, "I just really love the originality of the first season, and it's funny seeing the beginnings of a lot of quirks and jokes that have carried on through the entire series."

Season 2

Mickey and Bob in Bob's Burgers episode Bob Day Afternoon

The sophomore season was the first of 10 to receive a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. But "Burgerboss," the 9-episode season's nominated entry, is only one of several classics including "Beefsquatch," "Moody Foodie," and "Bob Day Afternoon," which introduced fan-favorite character, Mickey.

Season 6

Bob's Burgers Season 6 premiere Robostache with Bob as Robocop parody

Bob's Burgers sixth season had some weak episodes, but there were some bright spots as well. For instance, "Gayle Makin' Bob Sled" is a fun continuation of Bob and Gayle's dynamic from Season 2's "Dr. Yap."

But it wasn't all good. CrazyaboutSpongebob wrote "6 had some bad ones like "Sacred Couch" and "Pro Tiki Con Tiki." Two Redditors came in to agree on the latter episode, like a now-deleted user who wrote "I HATE "Pro Tiki Con Tiki." Ironically, there are also many who see that episode's Warren Fitzgerald as one of the best Bob's Burgers characters to only appear once.

Season 7

Bob's Burgers Season 7 Flu-ouise with Louise and a germ

The only thing Redditors can seem to agree on about Bob's Burgers Season 7 is it's better than Season 6 and worse than Season 8. The latter is generally seen as the point where the show arguably started treading some water.

But Season 7 has an impressive number of great episodes for so late in a series' run: "Flu-ouise" is a touching tale of getting older, "Sea Me Now" is one of Teddy's better episodes, and "Aquaticism" is a memorable exploration of all three siblings' dynamic, and how they're all sweet kids, even if they do occasionally go for their own self-interest when they shouldn't. OldMoviesFan wrote, "for me, Season 7 is the most consistent, with maybe only 2 episodes I wouldn't want to rewatch so it takes my vote."

Season 5

Yuki watching Hawk and Chick movie in Bob's Burgers

While Redditors can think of two other seasons that exceed the quality of the fifth, Season 5 has a slew of classic episodes all its own. "Work Hard or Die Trying, Girl" is both a showcase for Gene as well as a loving throwback to two 1980s cinema classics: Working Girl and Die Hard. Then there's "Dawn of the Peck," one of the entire series' most outright fun episodes. The same could also be said of "Midday Run," which spent a lot of time exploring one of the show's best dynamics: Bob and Edith Cranwinkle.

Some Bob's Burgers Reddit threads just about ignore Season 5 entirely while others have pockets who favor it strongly. Potatoesmashedup ranked it first while the thread's OP, Xo_amarie, wrote "I love the familiar groove of the characters and actors of Season 5...."

Season 3

The Belchers annoy the host of Family Fracas

After a second season with an episode count in the single digits, the following year gave fans a whopping 23 installments, many of which are classics. "Bob Fires the Kids" brought back Mickey, "The Deepening" was a fun take on Jaws, and the Emmy-nominated, fellow Spielberg parody "O.T.: The Outside Toilet" proved to be a fan-favorite.

Westmi2ga added "Season 3 should stand alone. The episode with the ears being stolen, the car wreck episode, the episode where Gene becomes Bob and the mad pooper, the nude beach, and the Topsy episode. That’s only half of the good ones. I laugh every time." The third season expanded the massive cast of characters just like it expanded the series' world, which CaravalTella specified by mentioning the Fox show's classic heartthrob boy band:  "Season 3 for me cause they introduced BOYZ 4 NOW."

Season 4

Bob and Mr. Fischoeder Trapped Under the Wharf

RedditsBillionthUser gave the whole series high marks, but narrowed their focus to two of the early years: "The episode quality has been so uniform throughout the years, it's hard to say but gun to my head, I'd say 4. It has the highest percentage of episodes that are most memorable to me."

Season 3 was arguably more fun, but Bob's Burgers' fourth season explored the characters more than ever before. "Seaplane!" tested Bob and Linda's marriage while "My Big Fat Greek Bob" found Bob fighting complacency. "Christmas in the Car" was a memorably constrained tale while "Uncle Teddy" gave a beloved character proper spotlight. Furthermore, each of the kids gets to carry at least one classic episode, particularly fan-favorite character Tina with "The Equestranauts," "Mazel-Tina," and "Presto Tina-o."
