If you've been curious about the upcoming spy film Red, which started production this week in Toronto, we now have our first look at the first set photos from the movie. The pictures, which come our way thanks to The HSX Dude, are of Bruce Willis and co-star Mary Louise-Parker (Weeds).
If you are unfamiliar with Red, the movie is an adaptation of a 2003-2004 comic book mini-series by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner and published by DC/Wildstorm. The comic follows a retired black-ops CIA agent (played by Willis) who must put uncover a top-level conspiracy after some hi-tech assassins try to kill him.
Because these are set photos, they don't tip us off much about what's going on in the scene. However, I can surmise that the scene appears to involve duct tape (unless of course Bruce Willis was just doing the gaffer a favor and holding onto it for a second).
There are only seven images all together, so I'm only sharing two. For the rest, you can check out the original post from The HSX Dude.
In our last update on Red, we told you that John Malkovich had stepped in to replace John C. Reilly. While there's still no word on why Reilly left the production, Malkovich is a well-respected actor and should do very well alongside the rest of the star-studded cast, which includes Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss, and Brian Cox.
Even though there's not much to them, what do you think of the set photos?
Red is being directed by Robert Schwentke (The Time Traveler’s Wife). The film has an expected release date of November 19th, 2010.
