Red One stars Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans walk through a mysterious graveyard location in a new behind-the-scenes image from the duo's upcoming holiday movie. After getting his start in WWE, Johnson is now one of the biggest movie stars of his generation, leading films like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Rampage, Skyscraper, and, most recently, Black Adam. The actor is next slated to appear in Red One, a Christmas movie from director Jake Kasdan that is set to release as a Prime Video exclusive during the holiday season next year.

Now, after previously showing off some action scene images from the Red One set, which showed the star running, jumping, and sliding, Johnson has taken to social media once more to share a new, much more mysterious image. The picture features him and Evans walking in what appears to be a cemetery, with the caption teasing an adventure into "the Christmas unknown." Check out Johnson's new post below:

What Could Red One Be About

Unfortunately, plot details for Red One are being kept under wraps, and Johnson's social media posts are the only tidbits of information being shared with the public. What is clear, however, is the movie is designed to be the start of a big franchise for Prime Video, with Johnson frequently referring to it as such. In addition to Johnson and Evans, Red One also stars J.K. Simmons as Santa, meaning Johnson definitely won't be playing an action-hero version of Jolly Old Saint Nick. In fact, the only thing known for sure about Johnson and Evans' characters in the film is that their names are Callum Drift and Jack O'Malley, respectively.

Johnson almost never plays the villain in any of his movies, meaning it’s likely that he’ll be one of the heroes of Red One. The actor’s festive red outfit in the movie suggests he could be some kind of agent of the North Pole, potentially working with Santa to ensure gifts are delivered on time on Christmas Eve. Evans, on the other hand, looks more like a typical everyman, wearing regular street clothes and sporting some stubble. It's not clear if Evans and Johnson's characters in Red One get along, or if it's more of a reluctant partnership, but set photos have already revealed that the two will be together for many portions of the film.

Many questions remain about Red One, but Johnson's most recent behind-the-scenes photo suggests there may be some spooky elements (and maybe even Christmas ghosts) in addition to fun, festive action. While Johnson's character almost looks like some kind of holiday superhero, Evans' character is still relatively mysterious. As is a common trope in Christmas movies, it's possible that Evans' character won't be a fan of the holiday due to trauma in his past, with the events of the movie eventually causing him to come around on the festive celebration. With an official release date not even set yet, it'll likely be a while before fans see Johnson and Evans in action in a Red One trailer.
