Injustice 2 character reveal video shows off Red Hood's new moves, brining the character into the parallel universe of Warner Bros' video game series Injustice. He joins a world where Superman became a tyrant after being tricked into killing Lois Lane and destroying Metropolis with a nuclear bomb, and only Batman and a bunch of members gathered together from the Justice League were able to save the world from his wrath.

The first installment, Injustice: Gods Among Us was released to rave reviews and several awards in 2013, so it was only a matter of time before the DC Comics fighting game returned. This year's Injustice 2 brings back everything fans loved about the original, as well as a new feature called the Gear System which drops loot like costume pieces and equipment to customize characters' appearances and modify their abilities.

Yet most importantly, the new game continues the story of its predecessor with Batman and his team still working to restore order after the fall of Superman. However, the arrival of Brainiac and the newly formed supervillain group The Society has the Caped Crusader considering whether to now free the imprisoned Man of Steel to help them combat these threats. A character reveal promo above introduces Red Hood as one of the 10 additional characters available for the game through DLC (downloadable content).

Jason Todd, aka Red Hood, once served as Batman’s second protégé Robin before being brutally murdered by the Joker. Then, years later, he was brought back to life using the powerful healing waters of the Lazarus Pit. However, a change has taken hold over Jason, and he now uses the mantle of Red Hood to wage a lethal war on crime. As an antihero, the Red Hood character uses guns and kills his opponents vigilante-style.

He's essentially John Wick, blasting away a path to justice no matter who gets in the way. The first clip shows Red Hood facing off against the current Robin (Damian Wayne), while later clips show him fighting a variety of adversaries using knives, throwing stars, electrical fists along with guns. Red Hood, Starfire, and Sub-Zero as playable characters, as well as a Premiere Skin and an exclusive Gear Shader, are available through The Injustice 2 Digital Deluxe Edition on PSN and the Xbox Store for $79.99. While the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition includes Red Hood and eight other playable characters, three Premiere Skins, and two exclusive new Gear Shaders for $99.99.

Injustice 2 is now available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
