One Red Dead Redemption 2 player has showcased their impressive gunplay skills in a reenactment of the Candyland shootout from Quentin Tarantino's 2012 Western, Django Unchained. Many fans of Rockstar's Wild West title have paid homage to iconic Westerns in RDR2 in various ways, often times by recreating famous characters from those films in Red Dead Online.

In spite of the near-universal praise for the single-player component of Red Dead Redemption 2, there has been some well documented frustration with the game's multiplayer, Red Dead Online. Rockstar's lack of support for Red Dead Online has caused many players to voice their displeasure on social media, with some begrudging the studio's focus on Grand Theft Auto Online. That said, there is still a dedicated community that continues to keep Red Dead Online alive, and it occasionally produces entertaining content that can rival the shenanigans that go on in GTA Online.

The latest example comes from Reddit user merwano12, who recreated the Candyland shootout from Django Unchained in Red Dead Redemption 2. Not only is the player dressed as the titular character from Quentin Tarantino's 2012 Western, but they also have the gunplay skills to match. Using Braithwaite Manor as a backdrop that is strikingly similar to the Candyland plantation from the movie, the Django player flawlessly takes out six enemies in such a way that it calls to mind the over-the-top shootout from the film.

Merwano12's 15-second clip is very reminiscent of the gunbattle seen in the closing stages of Django Unchained - both the initial Candyland shootout and the final scene where Django returns to exact his full revenge - as they're able to effortlessly take down numerous targets in quick succession. The gunplay featured in Red Dead Redemption 2 is some of Rockstar's finest, with the combat being littered with tiny details. Characters react realistically depending on where they've been shot, and one player discovered that even bullets can ricochet off guns in RDR2.

Although Merwan012's Django Unchained reenactment is impressive, there could possibly be significantly more moments such as the one they provided if Rockstar put the proper resources behind supporting Red Dead Online. The lack of content for Red Dead Redemption 2's multiplayer has resulted in an online backlash, with many concerned that the game's potential is going to waste. As Rockstar moves forward with both franchises, it will be interesting to see how Red Dead Online may evolve with a possible third Red Dead Redemption game.
