Rockstar Games is saddling up once again in a brand new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2.

As the follow-up to 2010's critically acclaimed game, Red Dead Redemption 2 promises to take all the fun of the Grand Theft Auto series and stick on a pair of spurs in this Wild West adventure. After 2016's debut trailer and last year's second look, this is the third Red Redemption 2 trailer to tease what's to come from the open-world adventure.

Aside from a gameplay leak a few months ago and a stunning 4K update of Red Dead Redemption for the Xbox One X, things have been relatively quiet on the plains of the Old West. Thankfully, just when the news was drying up, Rockstar has dropped a bloodthirsty trailer for fans to enjoy.

As well as the peace and tranquility of the American backdrop, Red Dead Redemption 2 has littered the prairies with daring robberies, merciless outlaws, and damsels in distress. Playing Red Dead Redemption with the Xbox One's updated graphics boost is the current gold standard, but gamers are yet to get their hands on No.2. By the looks of it, Rockstar isn't skimping on the artistic beauty this time around either.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Instead of just being a standard sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel story that follows new lead Arthur Morgan. Details are sketchy around Morgan's past, but the latest installment charts the early days of the Van der Linde gang. Once again focussing on the gang of Dutch van der Linde, players will have to wait and see whether it's John Marston or Arthur Morgan who is the sharpest shooter in the West.

Rockstar is looking to continue the success of Redemption with the third chapter in the franchise since 2004's Revolver. Red Dead Redemption is praised as one of the best games of all time, while Red Dead Redemption 2 looks to be equally impressive. However, in such a huge year for the video game industry, can Arthur Morgan hold his own against the likes of Kratos and Spider-Man?

Already pushed back from September 2017 to spring 2018, Rockstar has now confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will hit consoles on October 26. With Rockstar consistently delivering amazing open-world games, let's hope that Red Dead Redemption 2 lives up the expectations set by its predecessors and won't be taking a trip to the hangman's gallows.
