A Red Dead Redemption 2 campaign glitch has caused Arthur Morgan to suddenly gain a massive amount of weight. Rockstar Games' massive open-world cowboy adventure places players in a world filled with missions to complete, bad guys to fight, and food to eat. Player customization has always been a prominent feature in Rockstar's games, leading to many gamers creating spectacular custom characters in Red Dead Online and RDR2's story mode. However, the incredible amount of customizable options give a lot of room for error if a glitch occurs.

Glitches are no stranger to these parts, and Red Dead Redemption 2 has had some humorous ones. Since the game launched in 2018, bugs have been found and fixed, but each time something changes in the game's code, it's more than likely going to affect one of the thousands of other processes that are helping create the expansive open-world map of RDR2. These instances can often break the game, or in this case, dramatically alter a player's appearance when they least expect it.

Reddit user Redemptify was replaying RDR2's story on Xbox when they died in a fight, and after respawning, the main character of Arthur Morgan no longer resembled what Redemptify was used to. A glitch had caused Arthur to gain one of Red Dead Redemption 2's glorious beards and a large amount of weight that had previously not been on the character model. The game's customization options allow players to overfeed their characters to gain weight, but this glitch has surpassed the size limits previously seen in the game.

Thanks to the mechanics of RDR2's health and stamina system, this overweight version of Arthur Morgan would not have much stamina and should be able to take more damage. It is unknown if the glitch added these effects to Redemptify's character, but when asked how to replicate the glitch, they stated that they ate beans before losing a fight and what you see is the result after Arthur respawned. Perhaps if Rockstar Games created a Food Safety Administration for Red Dead Redemption 2's world, beans would be safer for customers to consume in the game, and people could eat them without worrying about ballooning up.

With AAA games becoming as vast and complicated as Red Dead Redemption 2, glitches and bugs will most likely never disappear completely. It is the bugs the produce overweight Arthur Morgans and graceful floating ducks in RDR2 that can add unexpected enjoyment compared to bugs that crash the game or make it less fun to play. Video games are going to be getting more intricate and larger as time goes on, and glitches will continue to do as well.
