A Red Dead Redemption 2 fan ran into an NPC wearing the same outfit as Arthur Morgan, then killed him. Red Dead Redemption 2 features numerous outfits Arthur can don, many of them preset combinations that players have the option to purchase via in-game stores or collect after completing certain challenges. Some clothes are more visually appealing than others, though all serve at least one purpose.

Because of the often drastic weather changes in Red Dead Redemption 2, players will not want to dress Arthur in the same attire long-term. During warmer seasons, for example, wearing a coat is less than ideal and slows the character down. Similarly, it's ill-advised to wear shorter sleeves while exploring the map's snowy areas, given that the cold can adversely affect Arthur's overall health. Style still remains at the forefront of many a user's mind when picking out the protagonist's clothes, though. As such, the actions of one player against a conspicuously dressed NPC will come as a surprise to no one.

Reddit user obtainer_of_clout recently shared a Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshot depicting a horseback riding NPC wearing an outfit nearly identical to Arthur Morgan's. The two characters' respective jacket and cowboy hat especially look alike, though the lapels on Arthur's coat is dark brown while the NPC's is much lighter in tone. Still, the Redditor didn't take too kindly to someone else walking around like an off-brand version of the Red Dead 2 protagonist. While the action does not appear in the screenshot, obtainer_of_clout responded to one commenter with the following: "I shot him shortly after taking the picture."

Were the Redditor's actions justified? That much is left up to the individual, but there can only be one Arthur Morgan, right? And, apparently, admittedly well-dressed look-alikes are not at all welcomed.

Developer Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive launched the Red Dead Redemption prequel in late 2018 to critical acclaim across the board. Once again, the studio had pushed the envelope in terms of interactive storytelling and open-world gameplay. The team's efforts paid dividends, too, evidenced in sales data that suggests it had sold through 37 million units as of this past summer. To the dismay of many, such success doesn't seem as though it will change Rockstar Games' mind about producing some much-coveted single-player DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2.
