Rockstar has added a new legendary panther to Red Dead Online along with a series of new Halloween-themed items and extra bonuses for gold and XP rewards. This is just the latest in a long line of updates from the developer, with Rockstar continually adding fresh content to Red Dead Redemption 2 and its online component since its release in 2018.

The studio unveiled the first part of this update earlier this month, announcing the Halloween Pass. The paid upgrade added 20 additional ranks and is only available until November 16. To entice players to actually purchase the add-on, Rockstar included new gear, clothes, and decorations that players can use to further customize their character. The update also featured a Noir Advanced camera filter and the Dead of the Night mode, which challenges users to battle against zombie-like creatures in teams of four.

Red Dead Online is now set to receive a batch of Halloween-themed content. According to developer Rockstar, this includes a brand new creature in the form of the Legendary Iwakta Panther. The big cat is reported to have been terrorizing the townsfolk in the area around Braithwaite Manor, killing dogs and livestock. Players can accept new sighting missions to hunt down the panther. Rockstar is also adding a series of Halloween bonuses to encourage players back to the online experience. The Dead of Night mode is now offering triple gold and XP rewards, while most other missions will provide 25 percent extra rewards. There's also a collection of new weapons and clothes, all of which have been discounted, with some items reduced to just 50 percent of their normal cost.

It's no surprise to see yet another legendary animal added to Red Dead Online. The collection of pelts from rare creatures was a major part of the singleplayer story and this activity has continued on in the online mode. In fact, Rockstar even created a Naturalist role for those who want to hunt legendary animals across the in-game world. Players can then either kill their prey or sedate them so that they can be studied. Both approaches are valid, although they offer slightly different rewards.

Rockstar has developed a reputation for creating stellar spooky content for Red Dead Online. After all, the studio was responsible for the Undead Nightmare DLC for the original Red Dead Redemption game, which is widely considered to be one of the best game expansions of all time. So seeing the developer add more Halloween-themed content to Red Dead Online will almost certainly be welcomed by the vast majority of fans.
