The infamous horror villain Freddy Krueger has been recreated in Red Dead Online by a player, transporting the character to Rockstar's Western franchise. This latest example is just another in a long line of fan creations that have used Red Dead Redemption 2 and its online multiplayer mode. Others have included one fan imagining what Dutch Van der Linde's gang might look like if they had significantly aged and were now old men.

Last month, Rockstar introduced hardcore missions in Red Dead Online. These new additions tweak the basic gameplay mechanics of standard contracts, taking away things like aim assist to make the missions more challenging. The quests came as part of the A Tough Business event and see users having to fight against gangs, assassinate targets, and rescue a series of hostages.

One Red Dead Online player has managed to create the classic slasher horror character Freddy Krueger as a custom character. User HeySoloSoyYo posted images of the creation to Reddit, giving the community a chance to see the accurate version of the A Nightmare on Elm Street film villain. Most striking is how the player has managed to imitate the facial features and burns that give Freddy such a distinctive appearance. Many commenters on Reddit also pointed out how well the antagonist fits in with the Western theme of the Red Dead Redemption series. After all, the character does sport a fedora and outfit that is not out of place in the Old West.

Meanwhile, other players in Red Dead Online have taken part in a fun boat jumping competition. Posted to TikTok, the video showcasing the competition showed the various players jumping from a tall bridge and attempting to land on a boat below. Eventually, one of the users was able to crash directly onto the wooden canoe in an impressive display of accuracy.

Just like with Grand Theft Auto Online, the online mode for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been used by players to show off their creative sides. The boat jumping competition is just one more example, but there have been many interesting creations like this addition of Freddy Kreuger. The timing of adding Freddy is also impressive, considering it is coming up to Halloween. It's very likely that other Red Dead players might want to copy the work and use similar characters online for the spooky season.
