This week is all about the Bounty Hunters in Red Dead Online with discounts, special rewards and limited-time bonus for players who are ready to jump into the Role. The holidays which covered this virtual wild west in snow and offered festive treats to all in Rockstar’s online cowboy adventure may be over, but it seems like the studio intends to keep the gifts coming.

It may not be a surprise that Rockstar is continuing to offer current players incentives to keep playing and new players a reason to pick the game up considering Red Dead Online just last month became its own, standalone title. The game, which is available to purchase for a discounted price until February 15, had previously come bundled in with Red Dead Redemption 2’s single-player story. As this separation was taking place, Rockstar also introduced a new element to its popular Bounty Hunter Role, the Prestigious Bounty Hunter License. Though it will cost a fair amount of in-game currency to acquire, the new credential grants access to even wilder targets and allows players who have reached level twenty, the Role’s highest level, to work through ten more ranks. Rockstar appears to be giving players every reason to start the new experience.

Rockstar has sent the call out for Bounty Hunters across its online plains, but the rewards are only available for a limited time. To encourage those players that have yet to jump into the Role’s saddle, Rockstar is gifting 1,000 Bounty Hunter XP and ammo for the express repeater to anyone who boots up the game this week. Through January 18, Bounty Hunter hopefuls can obtain a license for 5 gold bars less, some proper Role duds for half off, and many tools of the trade for a discounted price.

For those who have already started down the Bounty Hunter path, the game is offering twice the XP on any Legendary Bounties this week. Players will also find that tracking down the Role’s first ten legendary targets and turning them into the law will net players an additional fifty percent of the reward money on top of the usual payment. If players are looking to make even more, Prestigious Legendary Bounties – which require a Prestigious Bounty Hunter License – will payout double the dollars. These targets include the newest bounty target to be introduced, the dastardly cult leader Virgil “Shepherd” Edwards.

It looks like Rockstar is keeping the Red Dead Online community busy with a ton of content. Most of it seems to be available only for a short period of time, just like this week’s Bounty Hunter-focused fun, which gives the game a feeling of constant change. Not only does this give players a good reason to keep playing, but it might also tempt new players into the world.
