Underneath the glitz and glamour of every fictional criminal empire is the grit and grind required to build it, and Rockstar is looking to bring that to the frontier with the Red Dead Online: Blood Money update. RDO: Blood Money will add several new activities for outlaws willing to get their hands dirty, including Crimes, a new line of work that is completely separate from the Roles system and requires no upfront fee to begin.

Rockstar isn't just focusing on playable content, though, as there will be an all-new season pass system, more clothing options, and graphics upgrades, among other quality-of-life improvements. Red Dead Online has been steadily improving since its launch, with various updates expanding on its frontier, and these new features seem to continue that trend.

The bulk of Red Dead Online's new Blood Money expansion will see players interacting with Guido Martelli, an underboss for an infamous crime syndicate and a cornerstone of Saint Denis' "more civilized" criminal class, according to Rockstar. He will provide players with a swath of missions, including Crimes. Paired with the new season pass structure, players will have plenty to motivate them to saddle up when the update drops.

Red Dead Online Blood Money's Release Date

Posse Doing Train Robbery In Red Dead Online

Fans won't have to wait much longer, as Red Dead Online: Blood Money releases barely over a month since Rockstar first teased the update. Blood Money will be available for all platforms on July 13, with both the new Crimes system and the new season pass available immediately. Red Dead Online servers reset at 1 AM EST, so players should be able to jump into the new content Tuesday morning, with more content coming via updates to Crimes down the line.

Red Dead Online Blood Money's Crimes & Opportunities Missions

The Crimes system will function independently of Roles and will have no upfront cost at launch. Blending Telegram Missions and GTA Online's Heists, Crimes task players with missions that range from simple stagecoach holdups to multi-stage robberies. Throughout all of the missions, players will be on the lookout for Capitale, Red Dead Online's new unlock system used to access additional missions know as Opportunities. The first of three Opportunities will be available at launch, with the remaining two coming later.

Red Dead Online Blood Money's Season Passes

Quick Draw Club Season Pass for REd Dead Online

Red Dead Online's Outlaw Passes haven't been well received in the past, and Rockstar is taking a new approach in Blood Money. The coming season will feature four new Quick Draw Club passes, each only one month long and featuring only 25 ranks, encouraging fast and furious gameplay month after month. Each Quick Draw Club pass will cost 25 Gold Bars but will reward 25 Gold Bars if players fully complete it. Those who purchase all four Quick Draw Club passes will be awarded with free access to the Halloween Pass 2 when it releases this fall.

Notably, the Red Dead Online: Blood Money update will also bring back some previous features of Outlaw Passes that heavily affect how RDO is played, such as the ability to fast travel from a Wilderness Camp. These, along with the resurgence of outfits previously exclusive to earlier Outlaw Passes, will give players a chance to grab things they may have missed. These items will be purchasable via fences and in-game stores and will not require the new Quick Draw Club passes.

Red Dead Online: Blood Money should provide some much-needed expansions to the game's content and systems. While there is still significantly more that could be done with the frontier, Crimes could be a major step in the right direction. Rockstar will be rolling out more news on the update in the coming days.
